Please do join us!! New members are always very welcome. I remember when I was new around here, and curious to meet others who were moved by LC. The lovely people I have since met have exceeded all expectations, and I think you will find the same . We look forward to meeting you!
The nearest tube is Camden Town. I'm off on hols for a week but when I get back I'll post address, directions and anything esle I think you need to know about the pre-Glass get together.
Michael - Barnet may be in the fourth league but fourth rate we are not. Between you, me, the gate post and the forum, I think that Henning is a closet Barnet fan.....these scathing remarks about Barnet's performance are just a smoke-screen. See you at the Green Note - in full Barnet kit (I'll bring a spare one along for Henning).
By the way does anyone know of any good pubs/restaurants near the Barbican for after the concert? Diane has sent me a list but I haven't had time to check them out so if someone can recommend a place that would be much better....
What time does the Camden meet disperse and what time do we need to get to the Barbican for. I only ask because I have to go across land rather than under it. Unless there are bodies that would like to share a cab?
Dublin 14th June, Manchester 20th June, O2 17th July, Matlock Bandstand Aug 28, O2 14th November, Royal Albert Hall 17th and 18th November 2008, MBW 11th July 2009, Liverpool Echo 14th July 2009
Hi Paula, we'll set off about 4.30 to 5.00, Padma reckons, to make the Barbican in good time. We can't be late. Remember how we got there early in Manchester? I have never been early for anything in my life before. That was the first time ever. This could be the second... We need to be there by 6.00pm.
I thought you'd already re-written it for him, Mike? And you are the moon for so doing. Gonna perform it for us?

Can anyone suggest a good hotel as near as pos to the Barbican? The closer the better really. I'll be flying out from Dublin so what is the best airport to fly into in London convenient to the Barbican? By the way, really looking forward to it. It will be great to meet you all again.

Dublin is my old stomping ground, I'm Dublin born and reared but I've been in London since the mid eighties.
I'm afraid I don't know any good hotels near the Barbican. However I can help a bit with the airports queries. Probably the best airports, in terms of convenience are Heathrow or London City Airport. However Ryanair fly to Luton and Stanstead and they are reasonably near London. You can also get into London from Gatwick.
Check out this site http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ to plan your journey from the airports. You can type in your starting point and Barbican (or wherever you choose to stay).
Hi,
Travelodge, City Road, https://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hot ... tel_id=340
still have rooms available at £49/room for the 20th October.
It only opens on October 1st.,so the standards should be ok.
It looks as if it's only 10 minutes from The Barbican.
Hope this helps
Dave
