Philip Glass/Book of Longing Meetup in London 20/10/07
Re: Philip Glass/Book of Longing Meetup in London 20/10/07
Of course you are right, Ken. Somehow I lost orientation. What I meant was Loftus Road. Loftus Road, everybody, and let's see if Pete has the guts to join me but you never know with these guys when it comes to terms. The Liverderby is around high noon but as interesting as that would be I am afraid, it's too much stress to go back and forth and since the tea party is scheduled for 1200 I think I can make it for an early pint before I take the tube at 2 to Edgware Road, watch the massacre on Ipswich before I then hurry to the Barbican. It's circle line - I already found out. Is it possible to have a shower in the Barbican ?

Henning - you can rely on the English weather to provide you with a shower (but not the shampoo or soap!!)

Hey Pete - it's never been as easy as this. After two hours of sitting with the girls it's healthy to be among men who know about offside, hattrick and a bicycle kick. It's an old tradition. I read that tradition is the transmission of fire and not the adoration of ashes. QyouPeeAre !!!!

Think you are on the right logic trail Pete.... these girls are very much worth spending time with!
Further, Jay Leno noted this week that Bush is not at all worried by the low public approval he gets in America .. since he still has a big lead in poplularity over football/aka soccer!
Sorry Henning!

Padma: add Willy, Wijbe and Barbara to the list - they were some of the happy ones to get last tickets to Barbican!
Re: Philip Glass/Book of Longing Meetup in London 20/10/07
Willy and Wijbe are coming!! Excellent. I also make the important announcement that Michael is also coming! Padma tells me the list is getting longer by the minute. Can everyone please go on a diet as the venue is small.
But what is all this talk of football matches? Henning, you and Pete are already billed as part of the entertainment

Re: Philip Glass/Book of Longing Meetup in London 20/10/07
'The important announcement' Who's Michael? Is he a celebrity? Is he worth making the trip from Ireland for? Can I come to the hooley even though I've no ticket to the Barbican? Is it realistic to think I'll be slim enough by then? Only those who know Michael and me can answer all these questions. Michael could answer the first and second and third ones, but is he to be believed?

Now you have written in this thread you have to come along. It's compulsory. Michael is a legend in his own lunchtime. Once you meet him you will never forget him.
Re: Philip Glass/Book of Longing Meetup in London 20/10/07
Willy and Wijbe nice one
Are the tickets sold out now?

Dublin 14th June, Manchester 20th June, O2 17th July, Matlock Bandstand Aug 28, O2 14th November, Royal Albert Hall 17th and 18th November 2008, MBW 11th July 2009, Liverpool Echo 14th July 2009
Re: Philip Glass/Book of Longing Meetup in London 20/10/07
I think it was reported here that all tickets are now sold.
I do know of someone who is unable to come so may have a ticket to spare. I will ask, if there is anyone really keen to attend, if the ticket is still available.

Michael ? HMM, let me think. Wasn't there one Michael who found thrill in supporting a fourth-league club, and who made his dog do the same ? That would be great if that Michael would join the meeting in October.

Aren't we lucky sods.
The Tiger Lillies seem to follow Cohen meetups all around Europe these days.
On the last night of our Berlin Event they joined in the fun at the annual Brechtfest and gave Berliners their version of the Threepenny Opera ( The Twopenny Opera) at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm.

They played a couple of nights at the Badminton Theatre in Athens during this years Hydra meetup.
Now they are playing the Blackheath Halls in London the night after the Barbican gig.

All tickets £15 with no reversed seating.

Thank heaven for that. If I bought a ticket in Row A, I wouldn't want to find myself seated in Row Z... or, to watch it from anywhere sitting on my head. Thank G~d for small favours, that's all I have to say.All tickets £15 with no reversed seating.
