Great new look, Jarkko. Looks familiar though. I think I saw it at some other place. Oh yes, at my forum site! :D

Yep, the new version 3.0 of the phpBB software has new, useful features, especially for the admin team! It is still a beta version, but the developers will certainly correct any bugs very soon!

That'll be any 'hornets' nest then.

If only life could be sorted so simply. But then again, it's the differences which make life so rich. :)

Our thanks to jarkko and the backroom boys. :)

Did someone think that the text is too small on the screen? (=Too small font size on the New Forum?)

On the front page, in the same row with "Board Index", locate the letter "A" on the right, and click on it as many times as needed to get larger font size!

I had no problem logging in under my old password - I think the new format looks great - so glad it appears the board will continue. When I returned from travels in NYC for Tribeca Film Festival and France for Cannes FF - was very dismayed to learn of the recent difficulties - hope they are truly in the past - I so enjoy this board - it is the only one I subscirbe to (oh! except "The Sopranos" board which will soon be moribund!)
Hope everyone is having (had?) a wonderful time on Hydra - we will visit there again next year - and I miss it always!

...New update LOOKS great...but lacks confluence, e.g.,
when "logged on", I find that I am not logged on...or when "logged off", I find I'm still logged-on .... for days ?????
No complaints; will work through it.
Sending this msg, however, really don't know where it will go.

Cheers, JZ

I'm sorry, but I don't like the new format. Can we see the old pages on old internet files, like on the Way Back Machine?
They sentenced me to twenty years of boredom

Hmmm... I just found out there are some new options around here. What happens if I make someone "friend" or "foe"? Does this thing come with a manual?!

Click on FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) up there to get information about the options.¨

The FOE option gives you chance to select one or more forum members whose messages you don't want to see on your screen at all
(this has no effect on everybody else's Forum preferences).

What are my Friends and Foes lists?
You can use these lists to organise other members of the board. Members added to your friends list will be listed within your User Control Panel for quick access to see their online status and to send them private messages. Subject to template support, posts from these users may also be highlighted. If you add a user to your foes list, any posts they make will be hidden by default.

How can I add / remove users to my Friends or Foes list?
You can add users to your list in two ways. Within each user’s profile, there is a link to add them to either your Friend or Foe list. Alternatively, from your User Control Panel, you can directly add users by entering their member name. You may also remove users from your list using the same page.

Laura, all you need to have now is a choice of 'Who do I fancy/Who don't I fancy' option. ------->
I can divulge that he ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------/^
likes you quite a lot.
Something to do with Best Quality Romanian Honey :)
But he is bearly housetrained though. :(

Jarkko, I just realised the answer was on the first page of the thread, too; sorry you had to repeat.

Byron, you left quite a space for the name there... who might that be, who might that be? :?:
I see you and Albert have changed your location-left your beary hearts there? Tell Albert I'd always love to join him for a jar of honey... if it is on Hydra!

Follow the arrows to the heart of the bear. If he could type he'd tell you himself, but if he could type I'd be his show business manager. Must leave now, there's honey all over the kitchen table and he's been at the Ouzo, again!!

I am still being asked to log in regularly even though I never log out on my home computer :? Sometimes I am already in the forum with a window or 2 open after looking at another thread!

I don't have a definite answer to this, Margaret. Maybe you have cookies disabled?
Check your browser settings. The system needs to save cookies in the
computer of the member to keep him/her logged-in!

Seems that most members are continuosly logged-in without any problems.
However, I have noticed that if you come to the Forum using the links on the
front page of the Files, then you have to log-in again. I have not yet found
explanation to this; must be some kind of conflicting cookies.
Add a direct link to The Forum to your favorites and use it to enter - does this help?
