Re: petition for U.S. dates?
East coast folks should definitely go! I happen to be in California, and was just last month laid off from my university teaching job after this semester due to State budget cuts.... sadly, with a chronic illness, my health care costs have to come first, so travel just can't happen ( I have to trave...

Re: petition for U.S. dates?
I think we just need to wait this one out, folks... (I, too, am very sad at the idea of no tour here... in fact, embarrassing as it is to admit, it makes me want to cry every time I log on... and then that makes me feel guilty, etc. ) I assume we will get some advance notice if the US is to h...

Re: No US Dates (...yet)
I was wondering that, too ---
I'm just really, really hoping that the US will happen. I can't afford to travel, as I am most likely getting laid off from my job...

Re: Advance ticket booking for Files/Forum members
I, too, am wondering about whether this includes the US tour, as I'm completely unable to afford travel outside the US right now... (just found out I'm losing my job as a professor due to budget cuts, so unemployment is pending...yikes!) Guess I'll find out when everyone else does....

Re: Sherry has passed away
That poem made me cry -- so beautiful and moving. I didn't know her, and clearly that was my loss.

Re: Leonard Cohen: TOUR 2008
What an eclectic bill that is, above. Wish time and funding allowed me to go -- would be truly mindblowing to see Leonard, My Bloody Valentine, and Siouxsie all on the same bill....
Yes, I realize this is one of those outdoor 50-gazillion-people things, but I enjoy those.

Just checking in, too, and waiting -- but then, I've been waiting for years and years, but what's one or two more weeks, eh? Okay, it's torture... I admit it.

Re: California people
I'm certainly up for SF and/or LA, whatever is possible ticket-wise. Glad there's some interest -- when the announcement is made, let's make a more solid plan..

Re: Glass' "Book of Longing" in Athens
I saw Book of Longing when it played at Stanford, and also saw the mediated discussion between Glass and Cohen. It was wonderful, and I'd love to see it again. BUT.... having never seen LC in concert, I'd definitely change plans to see the tour, Book of Longing or no... but that's just me. I've seen...

Re: What should his tour be called?
She's a pigeon too...a white one (pigeons actually are a type of doves, though not all doves are pigeons.) That's "Psyche" in the picture -- probably the tamest of all my birds. She was born with a bad splay leg, which has caused wing and tail problems, rendering her flight very limited. S...

A proper introduction
It's nice to have this chance to get to know people. I joined this forum quietly about 2 years ago, using my real name, but never posted much after I realized that a google search would link to my posts... I'm an artist and a college professor, so I do have people googling me... and didn't really wa...

Re: What should his tour be called?
Yeah, rags and feathers together resonated with me a lot, too (rather like the Yeats quote on my sig. did) Particularly since I have a number of rescue birds (pigeons), it seemed a good name to take on -- it's my myspace name as well....
