Re: Sisters of Mercy

I completely agree on the biblical references to touching eyes and hems. I like to think that this one song came so easily to Cohen because he did not have sex with the girls. In "The favourite game" it is a strong point that sex and artistic inspiration excludes each other. But when this ...

According to Leonard Cohen the collaboration between him and Spector ended when Spector and his armed boodyguard took all the tapes and mixed them at a secret place. Probably Spector still has all the recordings, and if this is the case I am guessing that it will be very difficult to get a hold of t...

So both can actually be right. Thank you for your swift answer? REgarding the guitarplaying on "Winter Lady": I have been searching the site for information about the studiomusicians, but so far in vain. Is it there?

More biographical confusion

Hi all. Ira B. Nadels "VArious positions" and Jim Devlins "In every style of passion" seems to differ on more points than Cohens grandparents and great grandparents. Nadel writes that Cohens first public performance as a singer was at a antinuclear event in New York, April 30 196...

Thanks for your replys. It seems that my question touched on an entirely different discussion as well... Anyway, I hope that the original question has been cleared. Ira B. Nadel states in "VArious positions" that LC's paternal grandparents are from Lithuania and the maternal are from Polan...

LC's grandparents

Greetings all. I've been reading different biographies on Leonard Cohen lately, and it seems to me that the biographers differ on the point of Cohens grandparents. Some say his paternal grandparents came from Lithuania and his maternal from Poland, and some have it the other way around. Does anybody...
