Wonderful news!!!
Congratulations to the parents and the family!

My Valentine's Day gift to the new little one:

Special Delivery

Each new-come child
is a fragile package
concealing your most precious
hopes and dreams;
a tiny bundle
of cries and whimpers
tightly wrapped
in a lifetime of possibilities.
The wisdom of the ages
is relected in the sparkle
of an infant's wondering eyes;
his delicate fingers grasp
at all the world has to offer.
Stoney faces soften
and hardened hearts melt
when confronted with the innocence
of a newborn's simple smile.
In your arms
you cradle his future;
in your heart
you hold your own.
Embrace with love and care!

Congratulations to Adam and Jessica. That's wonderful news.

Parenthood is a blessing. And as my mother would say; you'll see, only the first 30 years are difficult...

I can already anticipate that my next favorite LC picture will be the one where Leonard reads Peter Pan to his grandson.
Cohen is the koan
Why else would I still be stuck here

Yay!! That's lovely. I'm new to the site - does anyone know whether this is Leonard's first grandchild?

Thanks :)

Wow. My dad's birthday is today as well (Valentine's Day). That's very excellent. And yes, the Cohen lineage continues. Sometimes some things skip generations, so perhaps this young man will take after his grandfather someday. :wink:

THIS JUST IN . . .
Leonard Cohen welcomes his first grandchild

JAMES ADAMS (Ed.;))

Toronto -- Leonard Cohen has become a grandfather for the first time at 72. A boy was born to the Canadian poet-songwriter's son Adam, 34, and his wife, Jessica, in Los Angeles on Feb. 10, reliable sources say. Adam, both a solo recording artist and a member of the rock group Low Millions, is the oldest of Leonard Cohen's two children, both a product of his marriage to Los Angeles-based artist Suzanne Elrod. The creator of Suzanne and Beautiful Losers first met Elrod in New York in the late 1960s when she was 19. A daughter, Lorca, born in 1974, also lives in Los Angeles.

The above "news" item would have been a perfect lovely birth-announcement if the Ed. had got the facts he got straight straighter. Nobody I know said Adam, Leo's baby, was the eldest. Somebody I know said he was the youngest with the hit "Cry, Ophelia," born in 1972. Screamin' error; to be sure, please, not worth wasting cyber-ink correcting same.

Thanks, Tom and Jarkko, for making The Forum *THE* world-class source for reliable information (unlike the bloody CBC)!

Love, Bo (who is still how happily thrilled)
p.s. Yeah, Lizzy, SWIM!!1!;)
