Best album, musically?

Post by Jack Daniel »

Which Cohen-album do you think is the absolutely best?

I choose between two ( 8) )

"Songs of Love and Hate"
"Ten new Songs"

Ahm, Ten New Songs or Various Positions. Musically, I'd vote for Recent Songs maybe, it's always fascinating to heard that one.

I'm unable to seperate the master's words from his music, as I find his music to be an extension of his lyrics. For me, there has never been a songwriter that melds the two so seemlessly.

With so much controversy regarding the merit of Ten New Songs, at the time of its release, it's great to see people choosing it as the best, or one of the top two, musically, Jack and Itana 8) .

For me Ten New Songs is streets ahead of any other album by Leonard or anyone else, every note on that record is perfect
...that David played and it pleased the Lord...

Well it was all done with Pro Tools. There's no way it can't be perfect. I'm not sure if The Future was recorded with Pro Tools but the music to "Waiting for the Miracle" is some of my favorite of all time.

The album I am most fond of is , no doubt about it , songs from a room .... but , musically , i guess the future or , maybe , various positions should be the best .

"Recent Songs" perhaps...also arguably Leonard's greatest album.

The albums I've got are Songs of Love and Hate, New Skin for The Old Ceremony, I'm Your Man and Dear Heather.

I have no idea how I'm gonna decide.
Now you've got the gist of what my lettuce meant.

Death of a Ladies Man
Field Commander Cohen

Will never tire of these two. In the 1970s he was at his singing and musical prime.
