Happy Seventy-Two to You, Dear Leonard...
Happy Seventy-Two to You, Dear Leonard...
Dear Leonard ~
Seventy-two now calls you...
and with the years, time mounts,
as your life keeps looking up.
May the love of your
friends, close family, and
dearest neighbour-companion,
Anjani
remain forever yours.
May good fortune
and happy heart
be always with you,
as you look forward...
with gratitude.
So many have dreamt
and may finally realize
their dream of seeing you Live...
since joined energies,
new songs,
and an impatient
little book
changed your horizon.
May you, once again, prosper
in your joyousness and calm...
and may I, once again,
be amongst the crowd.
In honour of 21 September 2006,
Happy Birthday, Leonard...
I'm grateful to you
and for you.
Love always,
Elizabeth

happy birthday to ya
So LC, you’re now seventy two, I didn’t realise I was that much younger than you
I know you didn’t notice me at the Isle of Wight, I didn’t hear you either so that’s alright
It’s not that I forgot or didn’t care, hey the sixties ended; who remembers being there?
but you were in my room when I had my first shag, covering Dylan, supporting my fags
take a rest no need of a song; for sure you’ve given more than enough to be going on
so put your feet up and take your rest as I’m more than content just to wish you the best.
fags=cigarettes:) it's abit thing:)

Yes, Happy Birthday indeed, Leonard - I wish you the most wonderful of days!
Of course, you are also welcome to our birthday celebration for you "down under" in Toowoomba on the 23rd & 24th, even though it is quite a trip!
Cheers

To Leonard in his birthday
To be seventeen again (Violeta Parra)
To be seventeen again when you have lived a century
Is like deciphering signs without being a wise man
To be suddenly as fragile as a second
To feel as profoundly as a child in front of God
This is what I feel in this rich moment
Chorus:
My feelings are tangled like ivy on a wall
And they spread like moss growing on a rock
Like moss on a rock.
Love is like a whirlwind of original purity
Even to the wild animal it murmurs its sweet trill
It gives the wanderers rest, frees the prisoners
Love, with its care, turns the old man into a child
And only with love do the evil return to goodness and honesty.
Chorus
My steps go back as yours move forward
The rainbow of our alliance has penetrated my nest
With all its colors it has passed through my veins
And the strong chain with which we tie destiny
Is like a diamond that illuminates my serene soul
Chorus
What emotions can do, knowledge cannot.
Nor can the clearest actions, nor the broadest thoughts
Everything changes the moment the gracious magician
Removes us gently from animosity and violence
Only love, with its knowledge, returns us to our innocence
Chorus
As if by enchantment the window flew wide open
In came love with its cloak, like a warm morning
and the sound of beautiful Diana* made the jasmine bloom
A flying Seraphim placed jewels in the sky for me
And the Cherubim changed my years to seventeen
Coro

Happy Seventy-Two to You, Dear Leonard...
Happy Birthday Leonard!!!! Here are the lyrics to a song I wrote that I would love you to sing someday -- it would really suit your voice.
Tennessee Sunset
Don’t you come here anymore
To the Tennessee Sunset
The birds will sing the birds will soar
Yes it’s the thought that you can never forget
Please do you remember
The Tennessee Sunset
We were going to live young we were going to live forever
With no mistakes and no regrets
Do you go back just once in awhile
To the Tennessee Sunset
We drove that truck for miles and miles
To return to where we first met
I kept the flowers that you gave to me
Dried them in a scrapbook so very carefully
And I look in the shade for your silhouette
Down in the hollow of the Tennessee Sunset
Fire is burning I lit it for you
And the Tennessee Sunset
It was all that I had it was all that I knew
It was all I was ever going to get
I see your eyes in the Memphis sky
Your smile in the Tennessee Sunset
I could ask you what and I could ask you why
Your blue is so dripping wet
We’ll come here again my only love
To the Tennessee Sunset
I look at my shoes then I look above
With never a single regret
I kept the flowers that you gave to me
Dried them in a scrapbook so very carefully
And I look in the shade for your silhouette
Down in the hollow of the Tennessee Sunset
***
Have a wonderful birthday.
Love,
Natalie
