Bogban Loebl

Post by Antiochus »

Now anybody Polish will probably know what I'm on about. This morning at 230am on the Charlie Gillett BBC World Service there was this track. Now either this guy influenced Cohen or it was the other way round. Bogban is 72 so who knows. But it was wonderful. Anybody Polish out there able to do me a copy? It was Ulica Zachodzacego Slonca by Bogban Loebl.

As I can see you were faster than a speeding bullet!

As far as similarity of Bogdan Loebl and LC is concerned... this CD is quite unique - Leobl until now was only a poet and writer. He wrote plenty of very interesting texts for one of the best Polish blues singer - Tadeusz Nalepa and his band Breakout. This is the very first time he used also his voice, so this CD is quite extraordinary. Also the musicians gathered for this project ate very interesting - mainly African jazz and folk singers and performers.

In case you'd like to contact Bogdan Loebl by mail - here's his address:

bogdanloebl@loebl.pl

All the best,

Mirek

PS. I am not sure whether he knows English. If not - I could try to help you in that matter.
