Poetry on this site

Post by george wright »

I think all poetry should be encouraged on this site
After all it is the language of Leonard
Both in song and books
and what attracted us all to him
People can ignore it if they don't like it

Interesting idea George. Most fans i know personally came to leonard because of the music. If Leonard remained just a poet i think it is fair to say we would not be here having this discussion. What might be a solution to this is to have a seperate section of the board for poetry. That would solve any problems of where to post it.

 All poetry should be banned from this site by the lousy little poets. Set up their own site somewhere else on the web, far away.

Scoot

It appears to me, as of this morning's reading of another Post, that Jarkko has already answered [not fulfilled] this request by omission. So, it appears your suggestion has already been [at least partially ~ as regards this site] been granted, ex post facto. One might even say, "End of discussion," unless the thread option gets utilized.

I've got an even better idea! A separate section for Lizzytysch. That way she won't have to flit around in a frenzy from post to post.

Soon she will be up to 50% of Total Posts. Now there's a depressing thought.

Last time i worked it out ( around a week ago now) she only had 38% of all Various Positions posts. She might be losing her touch. Although from a subjective point of view i think she easily has 50% off total text written.

Snickersnack: Flit would be the incorrect word. The depressing thought to which you refer is one over which you have absolute control, via your own engagement.

Partisan: Interesting that you're keeping track.

Snickersnack and Partisan:

I hope your day is going well. So, how is it that you feel about Leonard and his work? That is your reason for being here, right?

Isn't acerbity synonymous with sophisticated? Or is it acrimonious that is?

A dictionary would be a good idea

Lizzytysch,

Flit: 1. to move suddenly about or away 2. to fly swiftly; make short flights; dart 3. to remove from one place to another

Frenzy: 1. madness, delirium, see insanity

Snickersnack: See previous message. Flit would be the incorrect word. I knew its meaning prior to making my original comment. No "c" in Lizzytysh either. Thanks for the trouble of looking it up and recording it here, however, in case others may not be aware.

Since you object to my description of you darting from post to post in a sort of delirium; I will withdraw my remark.

And to inaugerate the correct spelling of your name, LizzytySH, I offer the following: (with apologies to Lizzie Borden)

  • Lizzytysh took an ax,
    Gave each post forty whacks,
When she saw what she had done,
    She gave each post forty-one!

Snickersnack....Not bad, but not much originality, either. Replacements of two words, well, hmm.... I'm amazed by your absorption.

Walk/stroll, reflect, write, walk/stroll, reflect, write......flit doesn't really fit in there.

It's an old phrase, yet it holds true....."at least be sure you spell my name right" -- thanks.

Oh, and by the way...... I hope your day is going well. So, how is it that you feel about Leonard and his work? That is your reason for being here, right?

I see you are still fixated on "flit".

I realize it's 100 year-old doggerel, but just think, from now on children all over America could be singing your praises when they jump rope.

Acerbity? Acrimonious? You? Nah, Never!

New section for the poetry of members

Post by jarkko »

I have opened a new section for those who want to post their poetry.
This way our poetry minded members know where to look, and those
who prefer not to read poems know it, too. Some kind of compromise, eh?
