Trains, Planes, and Automobiles
You've got to be kidding! Alexandra Leaving! That's a reach. Congratulations to Steven Beck (and the other three psychic's) for their uncanny ability to "find" the title for this painting. Speaking of which...my velvet Elvis is starting to look better and better.
I didn't vote because all I kept coming up with was Memories....with the floating bubbles being his, own various ones. However, that seemed too obvious so I didn't vote. I haven't had time to sit down and listen to all his songs to try to figure it out. However, Alexandra Leaving would never have occurred to me, so I don't feel bad.
I still can't connect it to Alexandra Leaving, and I sat and re-read the lyrics last night in case I had missed something. I did eventually enter, though all I could come up with was Winter Lady, as all the forms of travel seemed to be attached to her (or to her hair!), and the relationship bubbles were drifting away. I'm surprised so many people got it right. (Oh, those sour grapes
)

Hi Linda,
Likewise with my guess, the photo didn't relate to the content of "Memories," only the word. I still cannot understand the "Alexandra Leaving" connection either...I wish someone would do a bubble-by-bubble interpretation of it, and make it as obvious to me as it was to the winners.

For Your Eyes Only
I was torn between "The Gypsy's Wife" and "Winter Lady". But then, I realised, No!...it has to be "Bette Davis Eyes". Didn't Leonard ghost write that one back in the 80s?

Oh, that's funny, Linmag Linda. I didn't realize that. My guess would have to be that if he did, he gets to go on the "Sore Loser" team with the rest of us, so far, on this thread.

I am a right bad ass, dankish prince and I love my Violet to bits.
Elizabeth Laishley's comments:
What can I say! I played the song and painted what came into my head. Alexandra looked like this to me, sassy, confident with wild hair. She seemed to like the better things in life, therefore gold coins. She seems to be hard to pin down, a free spirit, leaves men whenever she feels like, I painted the different men and ways she left. Some of the images are from the song, dancing, on the bed etc. Most of the time I don't consciously think when I paint, I let the music and lyrics take over, therefore I am often as surprised at what comes out as anyone else.
Hope this helps some.
Elizabeth.

Thanks, Elizabeth. At least I can get a sense of where your mind went with it now. I've always envisioned her with long, straight, flowing, blonde hair ~ tall, statuesque ~ wearing a long, white gown/dress when she left. I also hadn't imagined this to be a regular pattern of hers. I wish I were able to depict things so recognizably in a painting, as I would love to do one of her.

Edit: I'll revisit your painting from your perspective.
