Congratulations to all the Israeli LC fans

Post by Rodin »

Or the majority of you, for being the rudest, most ill mannered bunch of people that I've observed on a music forum.
A guy negotiates with the promoters to get you pre sales, and all you do is moan about getting through on the phone line, some couldn't follow simple instructions, many had registered here solely to buy tickets, and out of all of you who got tickets, guess what?
Not one simple 'thank you' to the guy who made it possible.

Rodin,
as you must be indeed the kindest, most considerate and polite person on this music forum, I am sure everyone will be glad to take advice from you...

Rodin,

I didn't like your post because of form, not substance.
I agree that we have seen some rude posts these past couple of days, but if you want to constructively and effectively criticize behavior you should:
1. Address individuals, not groups
2. Make it about the action, not the person (part of the problem with addressing a group with criticism is that it automatically becomes criticism of the people, not just their action)
3. Find something positive to say along with your criticism, it helps people listen to you (in this case, "welcome to the forum" is the natural positive thing to say)
4. Be very careful to get your facts straight (I've seen several heartfelt "thank you" messages from Israeli fans since ticket sales has been announced)

Hope this helps,

Avi

The facts are there was a whole series of posts by the majority on that thread (here's a tip, I used the word majority because it didn't refer to al) desperate for tickets, and in the stampede forgot to thank the guy who made it possible.
Noticeable that not one has been back to say 'thanks' and most of the ungrateful wretches won't be seen here again.

sounds like an 'oy-oy-oy-oy' to me...
Rodin,
constantly posting anti-israeli/anti semi political comments on non-political threads on a music forum, and doing it again and again despite members and forum managers requests is what I call rude
also sending a private message to a memeber of the forum who is obviously repulsed by your comments and your behaviour is what I call rude , yes?
once again, you show a total lack of self-reflection.

Just for the record I would like to add that a simple and beautiful Thank You has been posted on behalf of the Israeli fans by Einat, here is the link - viewtopic.php?f=35&t=16454&st=0&sk=t&sd ... 80#p186068

Taken from the Thread - PRE-SALE TO TEL AVIV (FINAL DETAILS) - page 13 at the very top: "
Thank you Jarkko and Marie for enabling this pre-sale and handling it all so well ! It seems it wasnt so chaotic as it was expected to be ,it looks like most people got the tickets to the concert they were waiting for for so long. "
"climb on your tears and be silent, like the rose on its ladder of thorn."

Dear Rodin,
a) you write: "here's a tip, I used the word majority because it didn't refer to al". The heading you have chosen for this thread, however, says: "Congratulation to all the Israeli fans". Don't you find that a contradiction in itself?
b) You talk about "facts" all the same. One of the "facts" is that in the past, you have indeed very often posted anti-Israel messages, not always as concerned about the truth as you appear now.
c) There have been similar pre-sale situations, i.e. a rush at the passwords and tickets, for example in the U.S., and it was a similar "stampede". Meaning: Some fans thank Jarkko, others don't in the heat of the situation - no doubt, however, they are just as grateful. But why didn't you take the people involved there up on their lack of manners, too? Just wondering.
d) as brightnow and Fan have pointed out, there have been "thank you"-messages by the Israelis, so all this accusing them of bad manners appears hostile and childish and you shouldn't be surprised that it does.
e) I don't find it particularly well-mannered to get the Israeli fans who are happy about the opportunity to see Leonard soon (and this is what the forum is about after all: To share the joy in Leonard's music and art, isn't it?) to read your post by pretending to be "congratulating" them, only to then tell them off. The fact that the only reactions you have received from them for that were very matter-of-fact replies seems to indicate to me that you are not dealing with the largely rude, ill-mannered bunch of people you seem to think they are.
Thanks for your time.

YES i register for the forum only at Wednesday

NO I don't think that a post like you add will bring me again to this forum since it makes me understand that not all people here welcome me to this forum

so i will said thanks again to jorko that make it possible for me to buy tickets yesterday but to you all i want to say is that you have to think before you start to say such words about Israelis.

In my experience, Israelis are the warmest, kindest, and most generous and hospitable people. They are extremely conscientious and hard working, having developed many discoveries in medicine and science that benefit us all. Yes, there are times when their "attitude" may be seem different to ours, but that's only on the surface. They live day to day under the most stressful circumstances, so I understand.

To see an example of their loyalty, love and warmth, watch this youtube video of Leonard in Israel. Apparently, Leonard had experienced a personal emotional lapse and walked off the stage. After some time, he reluctantly returned and was greeted by the audience singing to him, "Havenu Sholom Aleichem", an extract from a prayer.
We wish you have success and peace in your lives
Just watch the look of joy on Leonard's face as he warmed to this outpouring of understanding and acceptance from the Israeli fans. I have tears in my eyes every time I watch this.

Absolutely, bridger15! Thanks for pointing out the youtube link...
And, mind you, all this warmth and understanding was to be witnessed within the same decade in which, for example, a German audience got really nasty at a Berlin concert just because the technical equipment wasn't working perfectly...

Well, I have to agree. They present disregard for other Forum members, not bothering to read any previous postings, but demanding answer to their password question over and over again.
