It doesn't feel like Leonard, especially the poor grammar of "I hope to seeing and speaking to many of my friends during my tour this summer". Also, given how busy he is right now, I can't believe he'd have the patience to tweet endlessly. It's a pretty moronic activity at the best of times.

I don't see that on there. But I struggle to figure out how Twitter works...

The real Dino seems to be on there though...

We have confirmed with Leonard that this is indeed not him, but an imposter. Leonard's management has sent a complaint to Twitter for this "impersonation", which is a violation of their Terms of Service. Twitter should suspend this account.

Impersonation of "celebs" on Twitter seems something of a creative pasttime for one or two fans.

Here is a link to the "Fake Nick Cave" twitter:

http://twitter.com/nickcave

For anyone who is a fan of Mr Cave at least this one has the advantage of being quite amusing, well written and an obvious imagining of his daily existence - and probably more interesting as a work of "affectionate satirical" fiction than the actuality.

I can't help thinking this is possibly Twitter's best possible use.

The fake LC thus far promises little in the way of pastiche or value.

Absent Jarkko's confirmation to the contrary, my biggest clue would be that Leonard has already made it clearly known that he is, by choice, sequestered from fan contact  . So, what... he would have been suggesting that he hopes everyone shows up at the local car parks  ;-) ? Meanwhile, I'm glad that it's been followed up on by Leonard's management. Now, if we can get the Facebook thing addressed  .

Bumping this, people are believing it's him, esp. at 14,000 followers! I didn't want to bother Adam, but it would be funny if he started messing with him.

I'm fine when they say they're a fan or a parody. Quoting lyrics... fine. But with that many followers and no denial?

This does seem quite vague, can anyone clarify his twitter?

Firstly, I can't help a sorry chuckle at these thousands of Leonard Faux-en followers... up to 35.6k to date. Amazing!

Secondly, why are some of you being so hard on Twitter? It's just a way to organize communication. Some of that communication will be inane or worse, but the same could be generally said about society. If "good" or "smart" people (whatever the heck you think those words mean) refuse to utilize these tools of organization because some "bad" or "stupid" people use them, then they will necessarily be overrun with those "bad" or "stupid" people. The same goes for government, military, news, etc. I just joined Twitter a few days ago and it is isn't really my scene (yet?), but I have to think that such a clearly intelligent poster calling the whole thing a "moronic activity at the best of times" is elitist and counterproductive. Please understand that I'm just mincing one little phrase that someone wrote almost five years ago as an example to make my point, and that it's nothing personal. Even if I overanalyzed their words, this is still food for thought.

For what it's worth I for one DO think @leonardcohen74 is him, for several reasons, one if which being he follows and (more importantly) is followed by Rufus Wainwright.
