Has anyone ever mailed Cohen a letter?

Post by accidentchild »

Has anyone ever mail Cohen a letter and gotten a response? I was thinking about writing him but I've thought about writing many artist in the past and decided against it. Anyhow, just curious....

Hi accidentchaild,

I wrote to Leonard a few times in the mid-nineties when he was at Mount Baldy and got a brief response every time (this was when I was researching an article). The biggest surprise was when I sent Leonard a birthday card during this period, and he replied with "Thank you for your kind words, thank you for remembering my birthday". In the following years, I wrote a couple more times, but didn't get a response, but this didn't bother me. I guess it would be more unlikely to get a reply these days, because of Leonard's renewed popularity. I also seem to remember reading that Leonard would not be able to receive any correspondence while he was touring. However, I would never discourage you from writing, if you wanted to convey something and felt the time was appropriate.

All good things, John E

Hi. I wrote twice to Leonard in the early 70's, ( c/o Stranger Music) and one day was 'wowed' to receive two brief replies.
