It's very hard for me to not write a long long introduction/warning right now.
For now, I'll just promise you that it's not really about Mary.
I post this knowing it will likely offend some. I'm sorry for the gore.
In the Middles of Mary
They should slice her in half
and give one piece to God
and the other to Joseph.
Then see where it gets us;
each could half impregnate her,
and she could half give birth
................................twice.
There will be paternity issues:
property name heritage.
.....Dad can beat up my other dad.
The half with the afflictions
and bloody punctures is Joseph's,
the half with disintegrating fingerprints
and the "only through me," is God's.
Know a mother will not be torn;
know a foetus cannot be born
when grown in half a middle.

I like that this is angry, I especially like the phrase disintegrating fingerprints.
When I originally read it I thought that it might be about a miscarriage, that or about a woman who people were pulling on and fighting around to the extent that the stress was jeopardizing the pregnancy.
I'm sorry for the loss and the pain she is experiencing.

Thanks, Jimmy & everyone.
I'm considering removing the indicated line.
Surely it's out of place at best, out of voice at worst.
But in an angry poem, some comic relief can be beneficial. Consider... consider...

Wonderful
Re: In the Middles of Mary
Great line manna! What a fantastic definition of god. It sweeps so many images into/through my transient consciousness'.the half with disintegrating fingerprints
"disintegrating" is both destructive and liberating at the same time.
I see both the end of myth and the beginnings of omnipresence tumbling towards me:
a zen-ish paradox.
And "fingerprints" are traces of being, yet that which was, is there no longer in recognisable form. A wonderful image also.
...and the two images combined...
brilliant MANNA from heaven.
