I´ve never heard such awful covers of Leonard´s songs

The line up in the TV guide seems to be all wrong, wish the Wainwrights were there! Who are all these people?!

I am watching the tribute right now (there will be a rerun on July 29th). The documentary section is the most interesting part, I think - on the other hand, some of the covers are just awful! Especially after having watched the man himself in concert.
I hardly expect them to come out with carbon copies of LC's versions, which would be tantamount to failure considering such attempts would be but a pale imitation of the original, but for the most part I find myself gritting my teeth.
The tribute albums (Jennifer Warnes's Famous Blue Raincoat, I'm Your Fan and Tower of Song) are much more interesting in terms of putting a new yet still appealing twist to Leonard's songs.

It was an hommage to Leonard Cohen at a Jazz Festival. So - if you are into violines you didn't miss anything. Andrew and I fell asleep at half time. The only interesting part probably was Adam Cohen's remarks and singing especially his duet with Serena Ryder (Hey that's no way to say good-bye). Adam said, that he had no affection to this sort of tribute shows for his father until one day he sat with his son and his father together at a table, the three Cohen men, and he began to think differently about singing his father's songs to honor him.

I've been missing the show on TV. However, watching the performances now makes me wonder if I've been actually missing a lot...
Being not very fond of Cohen covers in general, except those of Jennifer Warnes which I find adorable, I second this statement:
