hmm i had planned to return to london that night (have not seen any details/timings of the sunday yet though) but i might not have thought all that out properly, the journey, the timing, if i can be arsed to stay sober cos i am driving - and just get purely intoxicated by leonard's songs and his gracious presence .................but there is plenty of time left............

Just to give people some information i have discovered about big chill these points will be bullet pointed.

1) If you are planning to attend this event camp it is several miles from ledbury public transport almost none existent on sunday night.

2) you could catch train from ledbury towards Worcester or birminghamone direction/ Cardiff( i belive)the other however again trains stop running very early sunday night also enginering works are also causing problems some weekends..

3) the big chill does not stop till early hours monday morning Main stage runs till 1am and various other stages etc run until 3/5 according to offical web site also evening art trail at night from 10.00ish and various other activities.

4) This festival has been described as very avant garde and middle class also family friendly

5) tickets for sunday only now avalible £69 with booking fee and £5.75 car parking

6) on the sunday aswell as leonard you will be able to enjoy the classic punkrock band from manchester The Buzzcocks various strange dancemusic acts as well as weird experimental mixed media presentations

7) Please take all rubbish away with you or recycle at designated recycling bins

8) If you smoke take butts away with you or put in special cigerette bins.

9) The festival is partnered by "ICA" "British Film Institute" and Amnasty and a leading broadsheet newspaper" the Indeependent"

10) Also on big chills web site on camping list they suggest you might like to dress in fancy dress costume and take a frisbee

Above all it should be interesting and hope leonard does a longer set than glastonbury i am looking forward to seeing him 1st time my partner will have seen him several times before starting at the isle of wight festival 1970, the O2 london i could not afford ticket for that at £250 from offical site anyway please support leonard all the way the greatest singer/ poet/songwriter of last century and this

Would anyone like to car-share from Cambridge via Oxford/various? Almost certainly going for the full weekend, possibly arriving Thursday night.

Re staying on/off site, definitely get yourself a tent and be part of the festival. Decent tent, good set of waterproofs and boots, dry clothes and you've nothing to fear.

[I know Ledbury well. It's a tiny little place. If only someone had been filming me when I saw it's name on the list along with all those big cities!]

I have a ticket for this, but now I have too many tickets and I hope the world ends before I have to pay for it all. If anyone wants in on a spot of kayaking from Ross on Wye to Symonds Yat on the Saturday, pm me.

Does anyone know broadly when he will be performing? I understand it will be on the Sunday. Any idea what sort of time?

Thanks

Hi Everyone,
It's getting closer so maybe we should start to come up with a plan.
As everyone will be arriving at different times/days maybe we should just swap phone numbers and play it by ear.
I and a couple of friends will be arriving sometime on Saturday afternoon. I will be on 00447806437319 from Friday 1st.
PM me the number if you're not sure about posting it publicly.

Looking forward to it,
Jonesy.

Hi Paddieu and all at the forum,

I've just had a call back from a lovely man at the Big Chill as I left a message asking about the starting time for Leonard. Well he called back very quickly and said the starting time is 8.30pm and the set should be an hour and a half, so it should be due to end approx 10pm. While I was at it I asked if we could still buy tickets for parking on the day and he said yes.

My dad-who introduced me to L.C. with an old 7inch EP of Suzanne, Hey That's No Way To Say Goodbye and other gems, when I was a teenager- lives very nearby so I'm travelling up to see him and we're going to the festival on Sunday- can't wait!

I've just registered here as I thought all you other Sunday Big Chillers would like to know and this has been such a useful website so far in the rush to see the big man

By the way the Big Chill chap said there will be lots of other fantastic things to do before 8.30 on the Sunday. If you go on the website:

http://www.bigchill.net/

then click on festival, then scroll down to 'Sunday at Eastnor'

I'll be there early on Sunday and would love to meet-up. I might have some of my normal friends with me, (although I haven't told them how much the tickets are yet).

I know Rob and will give him a call first when I get there. I have also noted your number, Jonesy, and PMd mine. Maybe we could all meet-up somewhere 11am to middayish on the Sunday?

Looking foward to it!

Meeting up during Big Chill

Post by SteveMcK »

Hi, I'm just back from another festival (The Secret Garden Party) where I teamed up with a fine bunch of people who operate a travelling sauna called Lost Horizon.

Their next stop is the Big Chill and I'm posting this partly to recommend them and partly to also say that I'm probably going to be working for them again and would like to invite all LC fans to drop by. There'll should also be a related message board in the cafe somewhere.

Their set up consists of a nice cafe space, with sauna/showers/plunge pool in a separate area behind. The sauna costs a fiver, and is good.
