Dark Eyes & Oh Brother

This is a poem for a girl I met at a concert. It might be a bit cliché and probably won't lead to any everlasting truth or anything, but here goes:

Dark Eyes

My Lady Dark Eyes
as pale and soft as snow
how many days I've cried
I love you so

And I may die
and be born to life anew
but never shall I
stop loving you

You're the light
you're all that's pure and true
and when you cry
the angels are crying too

But I am the night
that lie inside the gloom
where the sun cannot shine
no life can ever bloom

I'd stand by your side
beneath a new and beautiful moon
but my hands were born tied
and I'm alone in my room

And I know the dove flies
in a place where I can hope
where there's nothing but love inside
where no shade can ever grow

But I'm still biding my time
waiting in silence below
this is just another mindless rhyme
just another hopeless poem

Oh Brother

I watched you rise
when I was young
and all were lies
and you were strong

You walked a mile
and you walked another
I watched you smile
oh dearest brother

There was a time
when I closed the door
and stayed behind
and hoped for more

But you were alive
in every hour
in every tree
and every flower

And oh I cried
so fulla sorrow
for in this life
I could not follow

And in the night
I'm torn asunder
and cast aside
and born down under

And here I lie
and here I roam
far from thy light
and from my home

You were right
and I was wrong
I watched you rise
when I was young
