If you love bagels, and if you're in Montreal, you could try dropping into Bagel Etc.
I've never been there, but I plan to go to the Jazz Festival next month, so I'm going
to check it out. I learned about it from another board somewhere. Here's what the
poster posted:

"The man himself has a home around the corner from one of my jobs on St. Laurent. Apparently, he is buds with the owners of my workplace and will be there every single day for breakfast when he is in town, and has been going for many many years. Formerly Cookies Diner now Bagel Etc. I saw autographed records and pics of him on the wall and my manager was like "Oh Leonard? Yea you'll meet him soon enough. He's a good guy" My jaw sort of dropped, since it's totally normal for them to just hang out with leonard cohen. he is always on the stereo. I think I will die when I meet him. June I think. Anyway apparently he spends a morning there with his notebook sporadically writing."
