I beg you

Post by Sanches »

Here´s my story: I´m a brazilian woman that will be visiting Europe in june, me and two friends of mine. I´m absolutely crazy for Leonard Cohen and not even in my most creative dreams I would imagine I could have the chance to see him live. Well, now it´s when it starts to get sad.
I was almost reaching my tickets, feeling them touching my hands, when I had to validate my credit card password to make international purchases. Well, my bloody internet bank account wouldn´t help me and I couldn´t fix my password problem til the tickets were all sold out. Oh yeah, I have to say that my travel plans are all arranged, including flight tickets, so the only concert I could go was the one in Manchester on the 17th.

If you, by any chance, bought 3 (or 2 or 1) tickets for this day (maybe you bought also for another concerts and would like to make this person so far so happy, who knows?) and would be so WONDERFULLY KIND to sell them to me, I would be eternally grateful. Sure I can´t afford to pay the prices these people who bought the tickets JUST to sell them again are asking for, so the only thing I could think about was to come here and beg you.

Please, consider it and sorry for the language mistakes, my english is a bit rusty. My e-mail addresses: lucianasanches@uol.com.br / lms10@bol.com.br

Thank you

Oh Luciana, commiserations. :(

Don't lose hope though, that something will turn up. keep checking all the messages (and go through all of the threads carefully yourself, to make sure you see if someone has alreardy offered up something, i certainly thought i saw someone with a spare for Manchester, but can't remember where that was and what day), don't rely on everyone reading and responsing to your message here.

Someone also suggested a sort of waiting/wanted list for tickets on one of the threads, maybe you want to put your story there too.

and this site here : http://www.scarletmist.co.uk
keep checking it, this is were spare tickets are being sold at face value only directly by the punters.

then also see th info on the guardian newspaper reservation of the whole opera house for the thursday - looks like ticket will be made available from that source from the 4th of april

best of luck to you (i really think that something will turn up for you, if you are on the case, so don't despair) :!:

my 'bestest' wishes & a big hug to you !

I feel bad for your predicament. The Manchester Opera House has a total seating capacity of 2000, so I'm sure the tickets went quick. If at all possible, try rearranging your travel plans so you can attend a different LC concert at a more accessible venue. You said you're traveling with two friends, so perhaps you can coax them into being flexible with the itinerary. You have a few months still to plan. Afterall, seeing LC in concert in Europe is not an opportunity you come across often.

This is just one idea in case all else fails. I'm sure some tickets for June 17th will open up, but it's a matter of being in the right place at the right time. LC tickets will always go fast at a small venue.

Good luck!

Yeah, that´s for sure, but I woke up really early this morning (-3 hours), logged in Ticketmaster and almost, allllmost could do it. I´ve already sent a message to my bank and Visa demanding tickets for another concert and fligth tickets. Not that I´m relying on it, but...

The itineray... The problem is that we started buying flight tickets and paying for acommodation in advance in order not to pay for everything at once. And it would be really complicated to cancel some of those, you know? A mess I don´t think I can handle, especially if I have to convince my friends... :/

But thanks anyway, I appreciate your attention. Really.
