I have no idea where or how. I have trouble writing on blackboards....the angle throws me off.....laughable my attempt would be. That is not to suggest, of course, that any other angle for drawing would bring better results
. If I knew where, however, I'd try. It would be a stylized version, at best

It seems that some people don't like Leonard's self portraits but I think they're really great! It is pure leonard, that self irony with great sense of humour and a little note of famous sorrow and longing... go on, Leonard!

You don't have to be an artist to draw a self portrait. I have my doubts LC thinks his self portraits are art. I don't really think they look like him, if I hadn't seen other self portraits or knew it was him I don't think I would know who it was. The humor in them is a satire of sorts about growing old, if it is not it must be anger. I believe he is actually better looking than that.

I like his self-portraits, too, Tom ~ it's more of a free-form style. I like sculpture that's along those lines, too. He could certainly draw them differently than what he does. It's purely choice. I feel they are intentionally self-effacing/self-deprecating. What would he be accused of if he drew them to be as handsome as he truly is? This way, he's surely safe and has the perfect backdrop for his wit, irony, sarcasm, whatever he chooses. Plus, any resident psychologists/psychiatrists can have a heydey. More fuel for the fodder of "Leonard Cohen ~ eternally depressed"....."Famous sorrow and longing".....that's perfect, Tom. Not to say that some of it's not for real, of course.
