Will 1000 votes bring our soldiers home? Should we pray instead? What would Paula say? (either one, I'm not fussy).

Which of my murders are you referring to now, mickey oh? I didn't do it. You got me off, remember? Thanks for posting that video, BM. Richard Thompson was on in Mullingar, and although I missed a lot of him, overcome by hunger at the time, he was very good indeed I thought. Very sad video and pics.

1000 muffins might lead them to dessert (this post has an Official Subtlety rating of 9.5, only the really bright will spot all 3 wordplays)

How many times do we have to cast a vote before action gets taken.

The only "Shock and Awe" I was ever interested in was the shock of the food drop of massive amounts of blueberry muffins and strawberry jam under the cushioning of parachutes, lest the locals not be bopped in the head like they were in some areas when the all-but-unconsumable MREs were dropped into their midst... and the awe of the incomparable quality and taste of the food offerings of peace... PEACE.

If we cannot do better than this then please bring peace to the minds, hearts, and souls of those awaiting the return of their loved ones.

My vote has been cast and brought the count to 43 @ 78%. Will someone in the hierarchy of war please take note of the numbers coming in from around the world.

Bush says 30,000 dark-skinned people have died in this. Other sources estimate 600,000 to 1,000,000.
"Clean Air Act" (which allows for more toxins to get into my air)
"No Child Left Behind" (which ultimately decreases funding for public education)
"Homeland Security" (which makes me feel pretty insecure)
"Saving Social Security" (Jeepers, do I even need to say what this does to SS?)

There are more, but it's more than I can tolerate this second without starting to type holes into my poor keyboard.

Muffins, muffins. Yes, please, give me muffins!!!

Mickey - I am afraid she won’t be coming I don’t know if you are aware but Christian Aid Week and Help the Elderly (whether they like it or not) impinge heavily on her spare time. She is in the process of writing some sort of eulogy or something of a similar vein for consumption by the massed Cohen meet. I did think it was a bit impertinent her suggesting a eulogy but as she says she is held in high regard by the Cohen forum and as she cannot be there she thought it best she produced her own eulogy rather than rely on others to sing her praises for her.

I will have a little tambourine and some various percussion instruments to create the atmosphere and I know I can rely on you all to add to the crescendo of un-mitigating praise for our own beloved Paula Hansen.

Unfortuately Lizzie she is still with us but neither she or I could think of the equivalent word (whilst still alive) for eulogy  I am sure some one on this forum will point her in the right direction. (Preferably a peat bog in Ireland).

Liam wrote:As the War comes to an end, in many ways the worse problems begin. I don't know if we will get an accurate count of deaths. Perhaps, Iraqis 5,000-10,000? And the Coalition perhaps 500?

But now if you add those who will die from rioting, water shortage, diarreoha, etc. it will surely exceed that.

I do not think that muffins are the answer at all. If a person has been seriously short of food and liquid then he has to be weaned back slowly to ordinary food. Muffins, particularly with jam, are an inappropriate food.

Moved to here from a wrong thread for this information.
For what it's worth I have just been outside in the back garden getting the dried washing from the washing line. It is 8.10pm here.
I looked up to watch the number of vapour trails in the sky because the Atlantic flights fly directly over us. They usually bend as the air traffic controllers give new headings for the pilots coming in from North America.
What I noticed immediately were two vapour trails in particular. The planes making these trails were black and not grey/silver as others are. These two planes were/are, travelling at speeds far in excess of normal Atlantic flights. They were very fast indeed. Is something happening in the middle east that we don't know about? This is not a spoof posting. The last time I saw planes flying at such speeds was during the second Gulf War. These planes were not flying at normal passenger carrying, airliner speeds.

(but "lead" is awkward.

But then again it always is isn't it.)

This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command,
how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds
than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war
is nothing but an act of murder.
