Yes... I didn't mean to exclude that portion of your previous one, either... I just stressed the way you wrapped it up in your most recent, which for me included the meaning of your prior. Still, it was an extra measure of agreement.

My feelings, too, for/about Leonard are as you suggest, apart and unique... we agree on this, as well... and on this "His music, voice and words have always lived inside me." Nothing will ever change that, whether I see him or whether I don't.

You're right on our time differences... and I'm exhausted. This time I'm turning off the computer, immediately, rather than giving you a chance to respond .

Goodnight, Christine. It looks like the others in this thread went to bed; like people with some sense . As for me, I have a bit of a big day on the computer tomorrow... something about New York.

I find Anjani's voice and her singing far superior to most
of the female artists current today, so the negative comments
that have been expressed here really baffle me. She could
easily make it on her own without LC's support, but isn't it
nice for her and for us that they are a team.

I will be very happy to see her sing live and I really hope she
decides to go to Ireland in July.

Thank you, Sherry, for summing it up so beautifully... elegantly and well. Yes... Anjani's voice and singing are far superior to most of the female artists current today, as well as many from the past. Yes... and isn't it nice for her and for us that she and Leonard are a team. I'm baffled, too; yet, I sure did feel better coming in here and reading your calm words of summation.

One thinks of a baffled king composing Hallelujah. I guess all I can do is join in and say Hallelujah.

Good Morning, Christine... whenever you wake up and come here. Not likely soon, as it's still about 5:30 AM where you're at. I am exactly as you would expect ~ exhausted.

I just don't see this plane exchange taking place. I checked the Orbitz link and My Stuff... the typical cost of changing a flight is approximately $130.00. My flight ~ total, taxes and all other fees ~ cost $154.00. I'm still trying to recoup from so many flight plans being booked within a single month's paycheck.

I'm trying to figure out how I could change it up without incurring a whole new flight cost... or how to determine the COST of doing it PRIOR to doing it. It seems you go to the CHANGE option first, and make your changes... and THEN find out what it cost you. I'll explore it a little further, but it's looking more like this is a karmic milestone of some sort relating to embracing one's fate . Rewards to come in the next lifetime .

I won't 'give up' just yet, though... however, it does seem to be what's supposed to happen.

I'd have given $100 to have a video of Jarkko's and Eija's expressions as they were looking right past me, looking for me, as I was looking at them directly in the eye and walking straight toward them... and the change in their expressions when they finally realized it was me .

Well, my supervisor is up for the change, if I can manage it... and will work out the time with me. So... still checking into it. Even though Leonard won't be participating in the second show, perhaps, I could still meet him in passing, as he retires for the evening and I'm on my way to enjoy Anjani. I keep noticing how "enjoy" and "Anjani" are so similar.

I'll check the link you're talking about, later, Sherry; even though at this moment, I have no clue what you're referring to . Lack of sleep and all that jazz.

Elizabeth, when a performer cancels due to illness or other problems it's obligatory for the club to offer a refund. If Joe's Pub refuses to fulfill it's legal obligation to refund, I suggest making an online complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have had good results from them.

It would have been lovely to meet Leonard, as well [as I've said ~ somewhere here ~ it would have felt more like the 'first' time than the first time did], and I'm glad that I had the opportunity once to do so, and was able to look into his eyes many years ago. Now, I will have the opportunity to look into the same lovely eyes that he does nearly every day :D .

Your generosity of spirit is very lovely Lizzy, but stop for a moment to consider our greed. Have you any idea how much it would please all of us here in the forum if when you went to that concert Leonard was there and that he even took the time to say a few kind words to you after the concert? The report that you would bring us of such a delightful meeting would make all of our hearts smile. You would be filled with joy and all of our hearts would get to feel it. You are just that way.

So to my way of thinking even if you can't make it to the first concert and even if Leonard can't make it to the concert you will be attending maybe there is still a chance that he will be in New York for some of the same time you are there. Maybe his own heart has a little place in it where he would like to bring some added joy to the ragged people who hang around here and maybe he would consider that one of the best ways to do that is to spend a tiny little bit of time with you knowing that you share your joy so easily. And if those other maybes are not maybes then maybe someone who can help it happen will read this and think maybe it is a reasonable thing to have happen.

You did such a good job of showing your generosity that I thought there might be room to slip in some of my greed.

Lizzytysh, you missed my point.

I didn't say that Anjani had a lousy voice. Or that she's a horrible person.
She's got a great voice and I'm sure that she's a nice, lovely person.

If Anjani were to come to my city to sing in a club I would go and listen to her. And I'm sure I would enjoy her artistry very much. But I would not take off from work, buy an airline ticket, and book hotel reservations to hear Anjani sing in a pub in NYC.

No one is going to NYC just to hear Anjani sing. Even if she's singing Leonard's songs! They are going in hopes of catching a glimpse of Leonard Cohen.

It was billed as Leonard Cohen Introduces Anjani. That's the reason fans snapped up the tickets. The expectation was that (at the very least) Leonard would say a few words.

And, dear Lizzytysh, you are proving my point. Even now you are moving Heaven and Earth to get in at the second show on the April 24th date. You are going to all the trouble of changing airline tickets, getting your boss to let you switch your time off, buying a new ticket for the second show, etc. etc. etc.

So, if Anjani (by herself) is enough. Why are you doing this?

I just backed into your link again and I can now see Anjani singing. While it cut off at the end of the interview, there was a link direct to her song (silly I didn't notice it early!) She's absolutely terrific!!! Can't wait to see her next month.
