WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE COHEN?
I just read in manuals that colour means those members are members of one of Forum groups, and we have only one group - FAQ section. I checked - in green all are who're in FAQ section (Joe, linmag, me, etc). Jarkko is orange (on some screens maybe seen as red) as Administrator.

And YdF solved the mistery completely - the colour of FAQ Comittee group is green (Moderators' colour) as everybody in it are its Moderators.

Jimbo, sorry I forgot to do this earlier and am on a 'cig and caffeine break; so, chillin' in the Forum (where, I must admit, it's good to see you here, too).
> HIS MUSIC HIS POETRY HIS SONG HIS WORDS?<<
It would have to be his words and poetry; Irving Layton introduced me to his work when I was a teenager. I was never without his poetry; spent greycoach trips reading it over and over, absorbing it through my skin — porous, luminous, tactile, palpable — turning it over in my brain, thinking, thinking, thinking, always of what he was doing, checking to make sure it was what I thought. (Yes, it was and is — drool-worthy, IOW.)
Now, a lifetime later; yes, it still is and yet, it's so much more; it goes with me and I grow with it as it grows with me. Jimbo, I'm a sucker for a good poetic hook. He hadn't recorded any albums when I first discovered his work; in a way, I now consider that a blessing. He wasn't what someone called an "American Idol" when I fell in love with someone who could string together words to set the world on fire in my brain.

It's a pleasure to have you aboard, Jimbo, ho! Hope you'll stay the course and keep the ship afloat. If you don't, we do have the Forum Galley (er, B'Losers' Gallery), you know <*BEG*>?
J/kidding. And, it's not how well you type, what your native tongue is, or whether you're a one- or ten-fingered keyboarder. It's what you communicate that shines through, especially when it comes to you.
Salut!

Re: is it time for us to meet

At first, I liked Nick Cave at Uni and hadn't heard of Leonard; then my Dads g/f at the time mentioned him and my Dad bought me my first Leonard CD ( a best-of) when I graduated and the rest is history...I listened to it many, many times, then suddenly fell extremely in love with it one sunny afternoon in Brighton while contemplating the fact that I was about to set off for Glastonbury festival, that was the 60's/70's stuff, however nowadays I love the more seedy, 80s and 90s songs. I love I'm Your Man, and Everybody Knows, and generally everything with the gravelly deep voice.
I have tried in my way to be free.
Hey all. I've just recently signed up, but have been enjoying your dialogue for some time now.
I recall it vividly, as if it were yesterday. I was in Kansas City for a conference and got into a friends car. She had in her tape play "I'm Your Man" and "Everybody Knows" was playing. I hadn't listened for 10 seconds when I told her, "I've got to find out who this guy is." She knew something of Leonard and shared that with me. I immediately bought that tape and proceeded trying to find other recordings. I wasn't having much luck until I traveled to Germany for some research and found there several of Leonard Cohen's CD's from the 60's. I devoured them immediately and have been an avid devotee ever since. As others have said, it's the lyrics of course.
Thanks for listening.
