The words, jimbo, always the words.

Suzanne. (First track, first album :))

It's a long time since I answered this question. The first few times I said "well, today it's Famous Blue Raincoat", then I realised that every day it was Famous Blue Raincoat. And I think, even taking into account the new tracks on Dear Heather and TNS, Famous Blue Raincoat still has it by a whisker.

Oops!!! I moved this thread started by Jimbo
from the NEWS section to this one where
it belongs! BoHo had started here another thread
with exactly the same title.

Looks like - and we did not know about this feature previously -
that the moved thread REPLACES the thread with same title,
without any warning (no "are you sure" question or
something like that!), so this means that we lost
the other thread (started by BoHo)... If you are here and
remember what you wrote please re-post!

Sorry - we learn new things every day!

First song I heard was 'Waiting for the Miracle' from NBK soundtrack.

It is impossible for me to pick my all time favorite #1 (if I had to hear only one song by him for the rest of my life, etc..).

No, Jarkko, you didn't erase the message, I did; I'm happy you moved the thread to its proper section; my concern was jimbo, being a newcomer, might feel bewildered by posting in the wrong section; so, I delicately tried not to hurt his feelings and took the op to say a few, too. Did so, J1, because I know this is your bizziest time of year and didn't know when you'd find time so, to ease tensions, I just moved it as a kind of place marker till you did find the time. Is all. I'll reply to jimbo again later; nada prob. Sorry I alarmed you.

BUT, I do have a question, one I asked BigD: Why does your name appear in orange, matching the colour of [Administrator], others in blue (regular posters); and, several others in green, matching colour of [Moderator]? Dick, Tim, and a couple others are green (and, they're not moderators). Is this something to do with IE7 (which I am hating)? No need to answer ipso-quickso. I'm just curious mellow yellow.

Confidential to JL: That's because you love Donovan; but, did you know the voice saying, "Quite rightly" on that tune is none other than Sir Paul McCartney? Thought so <*sigh*> . . .

That's funny - on my screen all names are black (including my own!). I logged out to check if this makes any difference but it didn't. I'm using IE7, too. The only explanation I can find for the green names is the (hidden) FAQ section we used several years ago - all its members were moderators to that section. Maybe all those have green color all over the Forum. Do any others here see different colors???

no colour coding here either (Firefox 1.5). Now I feel like I'm missing out if I can't see that I'm green. It isn't easy, being green...

Jarkko's name is red as Administrator, my name and "pekka" are green as Moderators, while all others are blue. That's how I see it on my ancient screen. :?:

On bottom of the main Forum page there's box "Who's Online?", which shows "Administrator" in red and "Moderator" in green colour, as explanation of colours. When Jarkko logs in, the system automatically shows him in red colour. Others are blue.

These three colours are in Who's Online, and also when system shows who's browsing which section.

On left margin, in individual posts, all names are in black.

jimbo,

>>> HIS MUSIC HIS POETRY HIS SONG HIS WORDS?
All three together, I guess.

>>> YOUR FIRST SONG
Actually, someone gave me The Best Of, so first was Suzanne, but I like it as the whole. (Also, I was Nick Cave fan, and someone recommended me Cohen as "the greatest father of Cave, Waits and similar guys".)

>>> YOUR FAVOURITE SONG?
It changes every day. Something from Ten New Songs or Various Positions or One Of Us cannot Be Wrong.

Colours of the Cohen world and those in it...

Post by lizzytysh »

Now I feel like I'm missing out if I can't see that I'm green. It isn't easy, being green...

Not like I haven't heard it before... just that unexpected element of humour.

Back to others' colours [not necessarily same as true]:
Now, it seems, ALL are Blue, at least at this moment.

It indicates below that Administrator would be orange and the word shows in that, as well.
It indicates below that Moderator would be orange and the word shows in that, as well.
In the list of the givens, jarkko, tom, and pekka are all in the same colour... blue [but you're not, are you  ? no, of course you're not].

If someone will do me the favour of coming on line  , I can tell whose name is what [mine's hidden] when they're actually here. I know that jarkko's shows orange when he's here. I remember that even in the generic lists, they used to show different colours, but then I got my system changed, so it seems they all went blue.

Will add more later.

I'm green, and the moderators and everyone else are blue. Jarkko isn't on, so I don't know what colour he is. Why are you hidden, Lizzie?

Maybe it's according to the number of posts?

I have been reliably informed that any member with a green color is a member of the FAQ Committee. Because any member of the FAQ Committee is a Mod in that section.

P.S. This is not an ironisation.
