SONGS FROM THE BEACH 1970

I've come across this as the title of a Leonard Cohen concert recording from 1970.

Does anyone have any idea as to the date and the venue?

Track listing as follows:

Colin, I think this may be Vienna (Konzerthaus) May 9th 1970.
If track 16 is same as the poem 'Travel'.
I'll check it out in more detail, but I think this is the one.
Frankfurt 6th May 1970 has identical track listing to yours except for an additional track 'Un As Der Rebbe Singt' which is track 1.

Yes I agree with Davido, it looks like Vienna 70.

Constantsorrow, I don't actually have the Vienna show in my collection.Can you verify that the 'Travel' poem (track 7, disc2) is the same as 'Celebration'.
If not, then Colin's could be Frankfurt, but missing the first track, maybe?

Both Travel and Celebration are from Spice-Box, but they aren't same poems. I don't have the book near me to check the texts.

Sorry for any misunderstanding here! I know 'Travel' and 'Celebration' are different poems, and both from 'Spice Box,' but occasionally tracks on circulating 'bootleg' recordings are wrongly titled - particularly when the concert has been given a name ('Songs from the Beach 1970'), rather than a specific date/venue.Accuracy of the track listing can only be verified by listening to the recording: 'Travel' begins "Loving you,flesh to flesh,I often thought Of travelling..." while 'Celebration' begins "When you kneel below me and in both your hands...."
So, Colin, I'd say you've got either 'Vienna 9th May 1970' with a wrongly titled track; or 'Frankfurt 6th May 1970' but missing the opening track.
Unless, of course, you have unearthed a previously unknown recording....
in which case I will be in touch!!!

on my recording d2t07 is really the poem "Travel".

Hello everyone!

May I take this opportunity to thank everyone here for their views and their interest.

The owner of this recording has now contacted me and has stated that this "named" recording is in fact from Jahrhunderthalle, Frankfurt, Germany, May 6th, 1970.

It seems the title, SONGS FROM THE BEACH 1970 was one that was used when this recording was being sold on eBay sometime back.

All adds to the confusion!
