Well, my position is that as an elder here [perhaps the elderest, participating elder ~ other than Leonard], you are grandfathered in and entitled to keep it as is

Lol! I guarantee I won't win, dear! Only thing I ever won in my life was 3rd prize in a class flower arranging competition at age 9. And even then the teacher gave it me out of charity, I think, because she must have seen how hard I was trying, LOLOL!

Congratulations to all involved for 10 years of such a great site and in such a worthy cause!
Rest assured too that the good folk at the Internet Archive are preserving the site for posterity. See http://www.archive.org/
You need to know the actual URL to find the archived copies. The earliest I could find was from December 1998 using an old URL http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www ... /~ja/cohen
Perhaps there was an earlier version? The Internet Archive started archiving in 1996. Anyway, you can see how the site has developed over time.

Good thinking. I'm betting Jarkko is going to pick the one on the very, very top! I'm putting mine in now, so when he puts his neutral arm in the virtual barrel, it will reach way down and find mine!

I often have peculiar ideas: It would be interesting to see a map of the world with each member of this forum plotted on it as a dot

Yes, I often have peculiar ideas, as well. More often than not, probably

. Last year about the time of Leonard's b'day, Jarkko arranged for those of us who wanted one, to have a postcard with Leonard's pic on it, and a Finnish stamp with Leonard's b'day as the post mark.

Whenever, someone received theirs in the mail, they'd mention it on the board, if you had been here then, you could easily have kept track of who's where. Too late now. Big UK contingent. A lot from Europe and North America, of course. Now, you have me wondering. What a task though! Yes, it would be interesting to see where the 'clusters' of Cohen fans are.

. Yes, I couldn't help but notice some of your posts are a little, well, peculiar. But then again, there are many more that are yet more peculiar. Does being on this board make one peculiar, I wonder? Or are peculiar people more likely to join in the first place? Either way, I may well find myself in suitable company. It does sound like a rather labourious task, plotting everyone. Not to mention having to move the 'dots' about every time someone goes on holiday

Well, that's a good point. Does the board make some of us, uh, a little different, or are the nut-balls attracted to the board? I don't know. I find that being a little peculiar is more fun than being stodgy. But, hey, if you think I'm peculiar, stick around, you'll see PECULIAR.

I was once on a forum where they did just that. It was rather nice to be able to see the exact locality of all the members. But, I have to say, it was only interesting for a VERY short while!
