T-?

Was that you posting in today? I misread the word 'post' as being 'poem' - in retrospect, it kind of makes a weird sort of poem esp. with no author info. Huh. Like Rob's 'footy' scores.

Back to the beginning - was that you who tried to log in but couldn't?

Linda.

A brief addendeum: You see, I've lost my mind, and I'm desperately trying to find it...can you help me? Did you post those two posts/poem?

A strange thing just happened. I tried to google in the tour dates/cities of Dylans' tour, and came up with a site called 'deathlist'. A very creepy tasteless kind of thing - but the point is, it seems that His Bobness is on this years list, or being added or debated - I didn't want to get too close to it. I don't even want to go back and look at the previous years' lists as I might see something I dont like. I wonder, if this thing had been around in '77 ... ? They refer to a 'death' as a site 'success'. It's a good thing I don't look around the 'net for the really weird things. Like this isn't weird enough?

"bukovina" :?: jesus christ. Balkan folk mixed into the dance beats. This world is going to end in horror. And I'l be in my room listening to Leonard Cohen LOUDLY.

I was going to ask about that one. I looked at the link, but it didn't tell me much and then I couldn't get if off my screen. It wouldn't go away. I had to turn off my computer to make the site leave.

So, what is beech wood or bucovina - folk music to dance beats? OK. But, is it truly likeable by some or is someone pulling my leg? Making me go spend ridiculous sums of money on phoney summer music? I think I could get into Balkan Folk music - the dance beats....??? Not so much. But who knows? I've heard some great, odd music.

I don't know how this Bukovina samples sounds like, but believe me, you don't wanna hear the original Balkan (Serbian) folk-dance... You'd cry "Gimme DJ Bobo, or Gary Glitter, or anything! Save me!" :?

hahahahahaha. don't mind me, just laughing at tom.

linda, no, i am not the "guest" with the "poems/posts." i believe that "guest" posted a second time to say that he/she forgot to sign in before. hahaha. i've heard about those death-list sites. they had wally george on one of them one time, near the top of the list (i don't think ANYONE here would know who he is unless they lived in california in the 80s).

Hi T -

Nope. I have not heard of Wally George. Somehow, I get the feeling that I don't want to either. On the other hand, I just might Google his name to find out why I don't want to. Go figure.

Yes, I noticed our guest 'logged in' twice. How could I think it was you? You seem able to log in whenever you want to. And btw, I'm glad you do.

Tom,

Ha! I enjoyed your post. I was curious about said Bucovina, but you must understand, that after seeing DJ Bobo, I lost my eyesight. Therefore, I don't think I could read the cover of the CD should I ever come across it. And, after hearing so much Gary Glitter, my aural capabilities are not what they once were. So, I might just let this one pass.

Hi T-

Do you 'long' in a lot, or 'long' in just a little? 8)

Dionne Warwick

Post by lizzytysh »

For anyone who may be interested and available for it ~ I've just read that Dionne is scheduled to perform at the B.B. Kings club in N.Y.C. next [this coming up ~ 07/26/05] Tuesday.

Hi Lizzy ~

Dionne? You mean like "my, my runaway" Dionne? I think that's the song and the singer I mean. Runaway. Boy, does that bring back the old days. Before my time, but I sure remember it. I guess I was on the 'cusp' of sixties/early seventies. But Dion (that's how I think of it being spelled) was great! Really and truly a summer vibe there! As for the concert in NYC on Tuesday, they're just fuelling up the Lear jet and I'll be there front row centre! In spirit, at least.

Ta,
Linda.

ugh, forgive me. i don't "long" here as often as i long elsewhere. but i'm sure you knew i meant to say "log."

and if it's dionne warwick, and not dion and the belmonts, i'd say "no, thanks. too creepy for me now."

Linda, Lizzy,
We need to straighten this Dionne/Dion business out. Is it Dionne Warick, as in "Walk on by"? Is it Dion, as in Dion & the Belmonts, "The wanderer"?

I'm pretty sure it was Del shannon who did "Runaway".
Rob.
