Tom McRae was supporting Tori last night. He had about half an hour and he was good, but I don't think I'll be buying his CDs. He isn't someone I would listen to a lot.
Tori was about 20 minutes late on stage, and I was getting nervous. She isn't usually late in Manchester.
The red curtain of the Apollo parted and Tori was standing right at the edge of the stage, in a bow, four pianos and organs behind her.
She took her place at the grand and started the set with Original Sensuality.
The set list was as follows :
Original Sinsualtiy - very strong
Little Amsterdam Tori seemed to ba a bit mad on this song
Leather - She performed this just for Manchester - she always feels a need to she said
Beauty Queen
Horses
Liquid Diamonds - Fantastic, a highlight for me
Suede - Never heard this live before. Brilliant on the organ another highlight
Strange - and another brilliant
Don't Look Back In Anger (Oasis cover) - Before she sang this, Tori told us a story of an altercation she had with Morrissey many years ago. And also dealt with a stupid heckler who was about 4 rows away from us. Manchester loved this, and it was the strongest cover I have ever heard from Tori and one of her strongest performances last night. Tori had never performed it before and admitted the reason she was late on stage was because she had been practising the song back stage.
My Favorite Things (Rodgers & Hammerstein / Sound of Music cover)
Winter
Carbon - another highliht
Ribbons Undone
Spring Haze - Seemed to be too long, but good
The Beekeeper - Very haunting live with the organ
1st Encore
Not The Red Baron
Never Seen Blue
At this point I was worried about the car. We were supposed to be back at the car park already and I was debating leaving but anxious in case Tori did perform Sweet The Sting and then came the second encore :
2nd Encore
Sweet The Sting
11pm, Tori, very happy it seemed, skipped off the stage.

Beekeepers
I haven't heard Beekeepers yet either, but I've seen Tori twice in concert in 1995 and 1998. I haven't seen her since, but I would love to. I'll have to try to catch her next time around. It sounds like the concert in Manchester was great!
