Coverartsite?

Post by logon2 »

Over the course of time I have collected quite a few bootlegs, with Mr. Cohen and others. Most of them I can find artwork for. But there remains a lot for which it just hasn't been possible. I do make my own, when time allows, but that doesn't happen all that often. Leonard Cohen is in my experience one of the artists that it is virtually impossible to find bootlegartwork for. Does any of you know of a site where artwork is located (Like there is when it comes to, like, Dylan, Pink Floyd etc.)
I'm not (necessarily) talking artwork from commercial releases ( Which are in the minority anyway), "just" fanmade covers.
If none of you know of such a site what do you think about the idea of having one?

Best regards from Denmark

There's no such site, and yes, we have plans to make one... This is 2nd vote this month already, so I guess this site is "a must"...

I have few scans, but also, as you, I have almost all bootlegs without any art work, so maybe we could start swap them at least? (In any case, I need to collect all for the site...) I have Master Poems, Golden Voice Vol. 1, 2 and 3, and Diamonds in the Minefield, I can send them in e-mail.

Also, here are some art works at Cohen Stuff page: http://www.grembold.pwp.blueyonder.co.u ... _stuff.htm

Almost all are the "real" artworks for bootlegs, but some are fan made (Montreux 1976, Warm Reception, Above the Soul) - you can see low-quality pics of "real" artworks in Bootlegs, at Discography section at LC Files.

Cohen Artwork

Post by RC »

I have made a few Bootleg CDR cohen covers in *.jpg format I'd be happy to share. :)
I also have a heap in *.cl3 format from an old version of CDCreator. Unfortunately I can no longer read this format  - having changed to Nero for burning.

I've just finished making 8 Cohen DVD covers that I've emailed to the DVDylan website. The site administrator there should have them uploaded within a week.

I'm also happy to share these, but prefer to load them on a site rather than email to multiple individuals because I'm on a slow dial-up internet connection.

 PS I'm having difficulty locating a good copy of the 1993 Austin City Limits show on DVD. If anyone can help me out with a trade, I'd be much obliged.

Cheers

I have been at the site you listed a couple of times before. It's just about the only one I have stumbled upon so far. Concerning the site you are mentioning as beeing in the making: Sounds great. Who is making it. And how far is it? Would it have any interest to send covers for it already or should I wait?

Best Regards

And to Richard: Thanks for the reply. I'm sure there is a bunch of people like you out there who's having some good coverstuff to contribute to the benefit of the whole collectors community! That's why it would be so great to have a place where it is all accessible

P.S. Sorry, but I for one don't have the Austin DVD

Greetings

Tom/Rich - I have a collection of artwork for the 19 DVDs in the Diamonds collection and would be happy to make the jpg's available for any shared resource - am planning to list them on http://www.diamondsinthemine.co.uk when I get the chance, but that's not likely in the near future!
Cheers,
Stephen

Coverart

Post by RC »

Hi Stephen,
I should have checked with you as to whether you had coverart before I invested time in making my own
It points more to the benefit of having a central point for availability.

Some kind of site - similar to Bob's boots -was planned by constantsorrow and me. I don't know did we planned to make new site, or do it on his site http://www.leonardcohenlive.com. Anyway, after few mails I received with artworks inquiry, and few he got, we started to talk about this again these days.

Anyway, for beginning, I can upload all scans I can get to my site (http://www.leonardcohencroatia.com) - I'll do new page and put it there, so for now, everyone could download the jpg's from there. - I'd be happy if everybody could send me scans I don't have.

My scans are:
Master Poems
The Golden Voice Vol 1
The Golden Voice Vol 2
The Golden Voice Vol 3
Diamonds in the Minefield

That's all. I don't have any "original" bootleg, only burne discs, so I cannot help with scanning.

Richard, I have Austin 93 DVD, but not the circulating version, but from our friend here, who recorded it from TV without first song... So it's incomplete, I guess I must find the version you're loong for also.

Linda, you can. What's going on :?:

Hi Tom,
if you send me your email address, I'll send you some coverart. It's mostly home made stuff.

Also if you'd like to trade for the incomplete Austin City Linits '93 show, I'd be happy to.
My list is on http://dvdylan.com/list/lenny - the Cohen discs are listed at the bottom.

Cheers

Hi Tom,
I've just sent another 8 covers  .
Sounds like Stephen has DVD coverart too - these can replace mine when he gets them to you.
Thanks for hosting them online. Its a very useful service for all of us traders.

I got others, and constantsorrow will send his. I'll ask others if somebody has the missing artworks.
This page is only temporary, not very impressive... :? Just to hold them somewhere.
