i didn't name the poor dog. he belongs to my stepmother, as well as the cat. the dog was inherited by marriage. my stepmom had a cat before, but she was put down, and the one we have now is a new one. her name is phoebe. see, i'm not the dork that names these animals. most people name their dogs something different, like lucifer was mentioned before, but not often real people names. jake and kelly were names my sister and i gave our two dogs when we were small kids. if i had a new dog i'd call him hulk hogan or something.

that retarded dog norman only responds to that name. it's amazing he understands that at all. if i used some other name and have everyone else in the house still calling him norman, what would be the point?

oh, and that ain't nothing.... you know what she said she wanted to name the dog before coming up with norman? WEATHERSBY!

My kitten is so smart. The breeder kept the kittens in a playpen. So to be sure he was comfy a client of mine gave me a big dog kennel for him to have a safe place. He slept in it all night, and has gone in four times today for his naps. Funny one minute he is playing the next he passes out cold.

I don't close the door he uses the door to stretch.

Ya ya I am his slave, no problem. Animals give so much love and joy. Don't worry I won't be posting day to day about my kitten, I cannot understand people who don't love animals or Leonard Cohen :)

Tri-me - I don't trust people who don't like animals. I don't understand how they can't like them and anyone who hurts an animal for fun should be hung drawn and quartered. I am more a cat person than a dog person but I live on a busy main road and I have lost too many. Having said that I have just acquired two cats so it is back to sleepness nights worrying about their safety. I always know where my dog is either by the fridge or by me

Do you put your pussy out for the night?

In the contract for Leonardcohen I had to sign that I would not let him outside, he is strictly an indoors cat the breeder retains power of attorney over him, she can take him back if she feels I am not treating him properly. I live downtown and it would be dangerous for him anyway. Mind you, where my parents live the cats cannot go out at night because of the wildlife, fox, eagles, owls, lynx.

People who hurt animals are the worst kind of coward, most likely victims of violent crimes themselves. I cannot stomach abuse of any kind.

cigue is hemlock, I'm soOOorry.

I don't mind the name of the animals, I was laughing because Leonard Norman Cohen.

I was in love with this man (not LNC, Ey!) once and because of this blind passion I had for him, I let him called the kitten I have just adopted the name of a jazz musician he admired greatly. We were just using the last name, usually. Personnaly I would never (ever) named an animal after a human being, but I don't really care when others are doing. This is funny.

Ah! Tri-Me! What a civilized law, this one (my cat never went out, but just because of me, any law is protecting her, this is the first cat I had that are not going outside, but this kind of cat, is really not meant for this. This is why I bought this sort, another kind of cat I would have feel too guilty not to allow the cat to go outside, I would have feel cruel, but with this one it is all the contrary, I would feel cruel to let her go out alone - anyway). I dream of the day there will be laws to regulate this market of pets. This is a real heart break (among others).

what if the animal is attacking you and you have no choice but to fight it? hahaha. what then?

i can understand why some people don't like animals. the answer is that they're grumpy, single people that are always bitter. haha. but some people feel that way about kids, too.

OK! T. now don't remind me of those fat cats who abuse children or let them abused without caring about the phenomenon! (we laugh but this is not funny). :( and then what about the old people? The, the, the, etc. There is so much, there is too much.

Oh! for I'll go listen to Everybody knows with the cheering up oud that says to me that problems could take care while staying light and even sometimes, happy. It is a music to dance on. A music of life to dance on, yes. :D

Dogs come when they're called. Cats take a message and get back with you.

I prefer people names for animals, simply because they have a consciousness that is more akin to a human name than to a gimmicky 'pet' name.

I do a head count at night and try not to have anyone outside during those hours....though some have access to outdoors, they prefer to sleep inside at night. There are my strictly-indoor-at-night ones, though. I have lost some to possums, when they were out at night.....and, elsewhere, one to an alligator, and another to an owl. They're really much safer being indoors with you. Though, to be truly a 'cat,' cats are nocturnal by nature......so, there's that to consider, as well, depending on one's perspective.

Good I meant it as a joke. Who was that woman on Are You Being Served always wanting to get home so her pussy would not be alarmed

I could have named him Rumi, that name came to mind too, but I have this connection with Leonard a cosmic connection. Sometimes I think Leonard is a reincarnation of Rumi, there is a similar passion in thier work. When I call my kitty I channel Leonard's energy into my life which makes me happy I supplicate White Tara everyday and do my Buddhist refuge vows and meditate. All this brings great energy to me and others around me. You are what you think. :P

It is great to have an animal in my life again since I haven't been riding since last September. I miss the horses four legged Buddhas.

Rumi's a great name for a cat! I love his poetry.

I have a wander-up cat now [for maybe four, five, six months now?] ~ he appears to be a Ragamuffin cat [identical appearance and described behaviours]. I named him Leonard and call him Leo. Don't think I ever shared that here.
Leonard is a reincarnation of Rumi
This makes sense.

Please, Tri-me, describe what "White Tara" is for us. I think I understand it, via context, but I'd rather know the 'official' meaning/description.

Thanks.

WHITE TARA

Post by Tri-me »

When I supplicate her I invite her energy to me I connect with her. I cannot tell you what I say because you need to be given instruction by an archaya or senior teacher. I asked and was given it. You do not have to be a Bodhisattva which is a person who has taken a vow to aspire to attain complete enlightenment for the benefit of all, a practitioner takes the bodhisattva vow to manifest and actualize that aspiration (text from a web site) they also promise to return, reincarnate, untill all sentient beings have achieved enlightenment.

White Tara was was born from a tear that fell from the eye of Avalolokiteshvara she protects practiotioners from danger and grants them long life. I work sometimes with terminal patients so I appreciate the help from White Tara. It is inviting an energy, you have to experience it I guess to understand.

THERE IS A BEAUTIFUL IMAGE OF WHITW TARA ON THE SITE

White Tara is an emanation of Tara who is connected with longevity. One calls on her for health, strength, and longevity. Her white colour indicates purity, but also indicates that she is Truth complete and undifferentiated.
She wears the Bodhisattva ornaments. She has seven eyes: the two usual eyes, plus an eye in the centre of her forehead and eyes in her hands and feet. These indicate that she sees all suffering and all cries for help, even in the human world, even in the worlds of pain, using both ordinary and psychic or extraordinary means of perception. She carries day lotuses.

Hi Tri-me ~

Yes, I know what you mean by "inviting an energy."

I have a woman friend, who lived in Tibet for 10 years, and has gone by the name of Tara for many years; perhaps, she acquired it while there. She's very spiritual and practices in the healing arts. At the moment, she's 'constructing' a 'green cemetary,' where people can be buried in the manner of their choice. What we are led to believe are 'the laws' [at least in the U.S.] are, in fact, not the laws ~ but are perpetrated as such by the funeral-home industry. Anyway, she's a massage therapist and has worked in the children's and other cancer wards with arts therapy, etc. A very nifty woman.
