Oh, Wiegee, quoting Leonard is certainly not a form of 'nothing else to do', a person could do much worse!
I think we all see ourselves in Leonards's songs, somewhere. At least, we know which song we belong in . Anyway, you're off to a great start. You should like it here.

- I think what I'm trying to say is, if your head is still hurting from the holidays - quote anyone but yourself! A motto I try to live by until I get my mottos all sorted out.

ANTHEM[/quote]
I would have to agree.
My favorite line isn't really a song lyric, but more of an intro to a song when
he's in concert. Before playing CHELSEA HOTEL he tells about how he came to write it. His meeting Janis Joplin in the elevator and she says shes looking for Kris Kristofferson and Leonard says "I am Kris Kristofferson". A funny
remark before the sad song.

When I was younger I didn't really get these lines. Now I've got three little kids, both calling me out of myself and slowly, slowly walking out into the world to leave me behind, and I think I understand them perfectly. :
I needed so much
To have nothing to touch
I've always been greedy that way
But my son and my daughter
Climbed out of the water
Crying, Papa, you promised to play
And they lead me away
To the great surprise
It's Papa, don't peek, Papa, cover your eyes
And they hide, they hide in the World
There's too many, far faaaaar too many mind boggling lines to choose just one or two, or six and a half dozen, or two hundred... guess it depends on how you're relating to life on any given day/moment. With that in mind, I've always really liked hearing Leonard say "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Paul Ostermeyer." What's not to like, and you never have to wonder.... "what does he mean???"
I never thought of it, but yes! Just about anything he says on FCC is OK with me.
Bobbie, I think we've all added many of our favourite lines here and they jsut keep piling up. You're right - pick an LC, just about any LC song and it would fit nicely into this thread.
"Paul Ostermeyer" has a musical sound to it anyway. Good point!
