Look a little closer,
Into the real,
Come a little nearer,
Try to get the feel.
See a little clearer,
Hear the children cry,
Don’t ignore the suffering
Of people passing by.
The light is truly hidden,
Neath lies of painted attire,
Look a little closer
Look a little higher.
Only your innocent looking,
Only your open heart,
Can assemble all the pieces
The liars tore apart,
So look a little closer
Into the dark and real,
Look a little closer,
Into this rotten deal,
The prison walls are high,
Behind dark suffering you hide,
But look a little closer,
And see that there’s no one inside

Re: Look a little closer
A wonderful tribute to the importance of paying more attention; insightful and beautifully written. Very inspiring! ~Carolyn
