Where's the attack, Zimmy, difference of opinion by others, surely?

Honestly, this is nothing to some ding dongs that have occurred in the past, this is to be compared more like the Hartlepools attack, compared to the days of Barca attacks! ;-)

I agree that too much is put on that is not to do with concert reports.
I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

Thank you, HelenOE, for saying everything I wanted to say. I like to hear what everyone says about a performance and would have no trouble skipping over what doesn't interest me, just as I do with anything I read. It's very heartening to me to read hardened professional reviewers, who have been around for years, falling all over themselves in search of new superlatives for Leonard. Love the tweets, which are usually separate, and appreciate being referred to excellent videos. Separate threads would be fine, but I don't have time to search the internet for each thing separately. That's why I come here!

I like that the first-hand reports, pictures, press reviews, concert videos, and sometimes the set list, are all in one place. For those interested in more than the first-hand comments, everything is in one place. For those not interested in certain items, how hard is it to scroll past them?

Not to frustrate those who feel the following should be somewhere else, by my count Leonard and the Band played 31 songs at the second Dublin concert, rather amazing. Anyone know if he's ever played more songs at an event?
2010 DECEMBER 10 - CAESARS COLOSSEUM, LAS VEGAS / 2012 SEPTEMBER 28 - L'OLYMPIA, PARIS
2012 OCTOBER 3 - PALAU SANT JORDI, BARCELONA / 2012 DECEMBER 13 - K-ROCK CENTRE, KINGSTON
2013 APRIL 6 - RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL, NEW YORK CITY / 2013 JULY 9 - PIAZZA NAPOLEONE, LUCCA
2017 NOVEMBER 4-8 - MONTREAL "TOWER OF SONG" CELEBRATION - RIP, YOU GOT ME SINGING!

Ok. Point taken Vicomte.

Apologies Helen.

But, I really am frustrated trawling through trash in what should be threads for 'real' reports.

Where would I like to see them? Preferably not in a concert report thread. In a thread of their own in everything else if they have to be anywhere.

That's all.

Kurt, I think in Gotthenberg 2010 he played 33 songs. But that being said if that was the case I am not sure he hasn't done more somewhere else.

34 songs in Ghent, 2012-08-17: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=32523#p311401
Don't have a complete statistics, but during that European tour he has played many concerts with 30+ songs. E.g., 33 songs in Madrid (penultimate show in Europe 2012).

Robert, as we say en Londres, it takes a man not his underpants to make an apology, so a big bravo to you sir. I would agree, it can be frustrating to see link after link to some report and most simply stating the same thing.

Still you and I can dream of the day that Julie and Perla, lock the sublime Webb sisters in the dressing room and show us what we are missing ;-) Only joking girls, you have done a grand job since 2008 and Sharon, well her voice speaks literally for itself :D

Hi Zimmy,

No doubt I'll come up with some kind of report for London, but even though the show hasn't happened yet, may I be the first to post some tweets from it...

" Oooh, isn't he lovely!"

" Where's Dino? He's always been my favourite member of the band,

" I hope he sings "Hallelujah" , that's the main reason I'm here.

" Do you know if they're selling those T-Shirts with the heart things on them? I wanna get one at the break.

" I love "Anyhow"...it's so sexy!

"Did you know he used to write poems and things that that?

“Must get a video of “So Long Marianne” tonight, that’ll bring my collection to a round figure.

“I wonder where he’s having breakfast tomorrow?

"There's a long song coming up soon, shall we have a few beers?

"Goodnight friends :)

Those can't be tweets! Where's the snarky one about being the youngest person in the audience? And the complaint about the queue to the ladies' room? And the amazement at the total fedora-count of the venue?

Ah yes, we certainly need some alternative tweets to these shallow, mindless ones. The following tweets - which could have been written by some forum members - are really "keeping it real":

" Oooh, isn't he decrepit!"

" Where are Julie and Perla? They've always been my favourite members of the band.

" I hope he sings [insert obscure phrase he mumbled once at a nightclub in March of 1958], that's the main reason I'm here.

" Do you know if they're selling those T-Shirts with the heart things on them? I wanna complain about the price/size/color/commercialism.

" I hate "Anyhow"... because I am not getting any, and Leonard probably is!

"Did you know that he enjoys singing and performing for thousands of people and stuff? What a bastard."

“Can't get a video of “So Long Marianne” tonight, because I am technologically inept. I will just enjoy videos made by others (and pretend not to).

“He better have breakfast with me tomorrow. I bought non-refundable airline tickets on the chance that he might.

"There's a long song coming up soon, I think we have time to get on the forum and insult someone/start a nasty thread.

"Goodnight friends :)

I'm pleased if I've helped to inspire some creative writing here, but I still believe that tweeting is for bird-brains (including politicians)!

And highly entertaining these fake tweets are, thanks - much more so than the real ones!
(I need something amusing to counteract LC withdrawal symptoms...)

Tweets are, by their nature, ephemeral.
"I'm on the bus" might be of some use if you want someone to meet you at the other end, but who wants to read that banality hours, days, weeks later?
Tweets have their place - on Twitter!
Ring the bells that still can ring...

Bird brain ....

An annoyingly stupid and shallow person.

And from Collins.
If you call someone a bird brain you mean you think they are rather stupid.

Stephen Fry has a twitter account, does he therefore fit in to the meaning of a birdbrain, je ne pense pas and there are many other hugely intelligent people who tweet, I for instance will tweet away once the way to do so is installed
