Tickets are definitely still on sale for the 25th: go to http://www.ticketone.it & search for "Leonard Cohen" or select Leonard from the Top 10 shows on the right.

As far I understood, the local promoter has nothing to do with the change of date, it is decision of AEG Live.

Indeed! When the concert for Verona on Sept 25 was announced, I have received a message from one of our Israeli members to say she would love to be there, but Sept 25 is the Day Of Atonement (Yom Kippur), which means prayers and fasting all through the day and it would be impossible to go to the concert because of this holiest and most solemn day of the year for the Jews.
Perhaps this has something to do with the change of date? Although I suppose mr Cohen and his management would have known in advance, of course! Tom, does mr Cohen "celebrate" Yom Kippur intensly so that he can't/won't perform on the Day Of Atonement?

I don't think it has something to do with religion. On Sept 25 2010 mr Cohen had a show in Lille and in 2008 there was a show in Vienne on that day...

Hans,
Yom Kippur changes dates every year.
In 2008 Yom Kippur was on Oct 9 (starting on the evening of Oct 8 ) and there were no concerts then (concerts on Oct 6 & 10)
In 2009 Yom Kippur was on Sept 28 (starting on the evening of Sept 27), again: no concerts (Tel Aviv was the last one on Sept 24)
In 2010 Yom Kippur was on Sept 18 (starting on the evening of Sept 17): concerts on Sept 17 and 19, not on 18...

Not sure of this is relevant...

OK, I didn't know that. I was too fast with my reaction. So, the change of date may still have something to do with religion.

I think if it was a religious question, they would not organize a concert to that day AT ALL.

I agree Gallina. And if that day was an oversight I think Leonard would have not changed it knowing
That it would cause a great inconvenience to those who had already made travel plans such as booking flights
And hotel rooms.

I believe it could be connected to Yom Kippur, yes, and that maybe somebody made a mistake while writing down dates and not consulting the band... Surely my personal impression is that they took the opportunity to move the show when Belgrade 23rd was abandoned for sure, and Bucharest is still not confirmed. Also, Monday is better, people can attach it to weekend.

The local promoter site Just published this http://www.dalessandroegalli.com/LEONAR ... N/185.html

And The reason is Yom Kippur, even if I do not Think it was for a LC request. It was an AEG MISTAKE.

"A seguito della richiesta da parte dell’artista di poter rispettare la Festa Ebraica Yom Kippur, la data all’Arena di Verona sara’ anticipata al 24 Settembre."

Ticketone has not changed his web site until Now ( 11.32 am, local Italia time )

Update: ticketone Now sells for 24. And no news about The changing of already bought tickets!

http://www.ticketone.it/biglietti.html? ... nard+Cohen

So Now it's clear. 24 instead of 25. No mail From ticket one. I wonder if They will send New tickets Or not. And I'm very sorry for All of you Who already booked flights. Let's keep us noticed. Good Luck, ciao

UPDATE http://baotzebao.tumblr.com/post/20835208943

http://www.ticketone.it/biglietti.html? ... nard+Cohen HAS JUST WRITTEN THAT THE TICKETS ALREADY RESERVED FOR THE 25TH ARE OK FOR THE 24

Importante! Il concerto in programma il 25 settembre all'arena di Verona è stato anticipato al 24 settembre. I biglietti già acquistati rimangono validi per la nuova data.

warning! ... " the already bought tickets remain valid for the new date "

Thank you for keeping us updated BaoTzeBao. It would have been nice to have received something from Ticketone but at least we know were we stand.

Our flights from London cost us £220 and it will cost us another £160 to change the dates ....

Wendy

PS Unbelievably, the AEGLive website and www.leonardcohen.com continue to show the wrong date.
