Leonard Cohen November 11, 1979 (Entire Concert)

A fellow member of this forum was kind enough to share recordings of four entire concerts with me simply because I posted that I adored the song "Ballad of the Absent Mare" and was unable to find any live performances of the song. I have not yet been able to repay his kindness, but I thought I would at least take a couple hours out of my life to convert these tracks to video and put them up on YouTube for all of you (and others) to enjoy. The quality is surprisingly good. Keep in mind, these are audio-only. By converting to video, I simply mean I added a photo so they could be placed on YouTube.

Hy Alb,

Thank you so much for posting the concerts of Hannover and Melbourne.

I didn't find the tittles "diamonds in the mine" and "tonight will be fine" of the concert of Hannover. Are they missing ?

Hi calypso, you are correct - Diamonds In The Mine is, indeed, missing from the playlist. I went back and double-checked my source CD's and re-checked the printed list I have detailing the recording of the Hannover show. According to the document, which was printed from the now defunct website leonardcohenlive.com, Diamonds In The Mine is "missing". I don't know if that section of the original recording was damaged or what, but sadly it is not included on ANY known recordings of this concert even though it was a part of the set-list.

Tonight Will Be Fine, however, is part of the YouTube playlist. In fact, I just double-checked to make sure I did not screw something up when creating the playlist. (I'm new to creating YouTube playlists). You may find the song directly at:

Meanwhile, I've found the song Tonight will be fine.

I'm still waiting for the concert of Kopenhaven 1979, if you have time to post it. Thank you so much. I do not grow tired of listening new (old) concerts of Leonard Cohen.

Thanks for these, Alb. I share your love of "The Ballad of the Absent Mare" and am also addicted to "The Window" and "Memories" ! How great it must have been to be at one of those 1979 concerts.
