Video wrote:I unfortunately will miss this tour. I look forward to seeing him next time. Either my wife and I will go or my best friend and I. I have never seen him in a live performance and can hardly wait to do so. I was teen in the 60's and do remember "Suzanne", but never really followed him. I just got reintroduced to his music at age 62 and he has blown my mind. I have never been so hypnotized and fascinated by a singer/poet in my life. I hope to participate on this forum and meet many fellow fans. I am from the USA near Indianapolis, Indiana. I will look forward to sharing with all of you. I had difficulty getting signing up and Jarkko helped me out. Seems like a great guy. This is my 1st post...Hi everyone.

Welcome to you, Video. Great to have you on the forum.
We are all on a bit of a flight of fancy on this thread, it is by no means certain that Leonard will tour again though we are all hoping he will. I would urge you very strongly if you possibly can to get tickets to one of the shows he is doing in the US next month, you can try via the links in THE WORLD TOUR 2010 - SCHEDULE WITH TICKET LINKS. You will never cease to regret not doing so if he does not tour again and you have missed this current opportunity. If he does tour again well you will be a double winner, you'll get to see him again! Trust me, go now while you have the chance.

Welcome again, Evie B

Two things give me hope.
Mr Cohen's final words Friday, Auckland were, 'Until the next time' which is quite different to his farewell last year.

The Webb Sister's facebook page status this morning was:

are leaving New Zealand this morning...but we'll be back

Sure these comments don't give us a promise, but surely, they do give us hope?

Thanks for the warm welcome Evie B. I would love to go, but will be unavailable during the next two months. I know I will regret not seeing him, but hopefully he will treat us to another performance soon. He absolutely amazes me everytime I listen to his songs. Thanks again,
hope to see you around here.

Stay well, video

This thread reminds me that it is only three years ago that none of us really expected Leonard to ever tour again. Oh, there was lots of wishing, and I dare say praying, but deep in our hearts we all accepted that men in their seventies just don't get up and hit the road again, do they? They stay at home, sitting beside the fire in their bedroom slippers, puffing on their tobacco, with a glass of wine in their hand, and reminiscing about past glories. Well they do, don't they?

Then, at the Philip Glass talk in October 2007, I heard him say the magical words: "Next year, God willing, I will be touring." 'Will' not 'may'. And suddenly my world opened up.

So, with Leonard, nothing is impossible.

In their article viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23150&start=0 Charley said that NZ was their favourite place and they would definitely return so maybe it was a personal promise. But, hey, you could be right, it could mean something else. Time will tell.

I'm wanted at the traffic jam,
They're saving me a seat.
I am what I am and what I am,
Is back on Boogie Street.....

A sip of wine, a cigarette,
And then it's time to go ...

See you there Leonard, and we can't wait!

Amrei :D ;-) 8)
