AEG has made no announcement about an announcement. Jarkko provided the members of this forum some advice. Believe it or not he cares about the people on this board and was doing his best to serve all of you, to protect you, to help you, to guide you. He purposely begged permission to share what he thought would be the most important information with you UNTIL an official announcement could be made. I am not suggesting that anyone here is singling Jarkko out for your sour words. But let us remember where we are, this is Jarkko's board. You are in his house. Please do not use Jarkko's efforts to serve you to throw stones at others.
I really don't think anyone has been that out of line??? Some members have disapproved of the speculation, but to be fair, people are bound to speculate and it would now appear that the main thrust of such was pretty accurate.
No one has questioned Jarkko's dedication to the forum. It is clear his hand's are tied and there is nothing he can do. People are just frustrated and disappointed with the situation.
Well guys, as far as I know jarkko is not employed by AEG. He is not working for them but is helping us to know something they are trying to hide. We definitely must not blame him for that.
However, AEG is way too big that one could believe in clumsy communications. Some agents in my part of the world (who may be jealous because LC is not "their" gig) are rumoring that "LC fell after the Grammies ceremony and broke his arm or ribs and today no one knows when he would be able to go on touring. There is less then month before the first concert so if this story is true, at least the first part of the tour would have to be delayed.

Some of us have thought for some time that this is related to a health matter (ever since Jarkko quashed the ticket sales theory, but did not comment on a couple of requests to confirm LC's health is ok), so this would not surprise me. Let us hope if it is health-related, it is something not too serious, and that he is back to good health soon.

Forgive me but I thought the Grammy's were on the 31st January and this thread and jarkkos message were started before then.
I hope you mentioned this to them ?

I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later. No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record. Neil from The Young Ones
We may not know the reason for the "non-announcement" but AEG certainly does. What have they got to gain by not informing everyone? I am sure everyone agrees that speculation is not particularly helpful but without any information being given by AEG then speculation is inevitable.
Once again I would suggest a case of terrible customer relations and a company who doesn't deserve our patronage - unfortunately though, they do hold the upper hand re. any future tour and they know that they can get away with treating their customers like ****.

Well that is not accurate because the dates for the world tour were pulled and the announcement of the impending announcement were both made before the Grammies when Leonard did move a little gingerley I thought ...........so there could be an element of truth in in your report that perhaps a minor physical ailment could be at the root of all this .........but it would have preceded the Grammies for sure.
And maybe everone is hoping for a recovery so that the tour can proceed as planned?
But because there is a risk and Jarkko is an accountant who does not want people to waste their money if there is any risk it will be wasted he gave us all a heads up

It is not AEG's place to inform us of the whys, that is up to Leonard and his management to make public when they see fit, but as the official ticket seller, it is AEG's responsibility to keep people informed about the postponement or cancellation of shows they are still selling tickets for. The fact they havent kept people informed about the postponement or cancellation of dates is what i find disagreeable, not that they haven't given us an explanation as to why the shows are postponed or cancelled.

LC got his Grammy at the ceremony held on Jan. 30 for winners of the lifetime award.
OK but jarkko put his announcement out before that ceremony, he stated an important announcement would be made on the 30th or 31st January.
jarkko is no doubt a very learned man but he is not mystic meg (the Brits will know her )

That may have been the case, but as someone has said, there has been a sign up outside the Zenith Caen since at least yesterday stating the Caen date is postponed. The venue would not make such an statement without being informed of said postponement by someone from the LC camp (ie AEG). If they are able to inform venues that dates are postponed, why are they not able to inform their customers? And why are they still selling tickets for the Caen show!?!?!
Maybe they are hoping the tour will be able to proceed at some point which is why they are biding their time (waiting to see if the issue causing the problem can be fixed in time or not), but for now it looks almost certain that anyone with tickets for Caen is going to be disappointed, and with Lille just two days later, well that one isnt looking so good either.

Danslenoir - THAT IS THE QUESTION - Now we wait for the answer! Hopefully AEG monitor this site and will furnish us with an answer before the end of the year!
Could you read anything between the lines anything Mystic Meg might have hinted to, as to how jarkko could have known before the Grammy's that LC would break his arm after the ceremony?

Ah Vicomte, even if she does know something she may not have all the facts as was hinted at by the sandy haired vertically challenged person the lady meets when she leaves the tent!!
