I think perhaps it is time to turn to more weighty matters and I sit here surmising if there was to be a rampant outbreak of typhoid in France and no French nationals were allowed to leave the country whether FIFA would relent and allow Ireland to take their place in the World Cup?

Perhaps of more importance as this is a Cohen site and as this thread rolls over onto its 30th page can any of the old timers advise if this is now officially the longest thread on the site or have their been equally substantive matters in the past that have continued for a greater length.

I somehow suspect this thread has real legs and will keep going until the announcement and then what will the title of the next thread be?

"Muffins or War," has 59 pages. It is also smeared with blood, snot and guts. Only go there if you have a strong constitution. (Constitution :- has many meanings and sub-meanings ) If you do go to its beginning, post number 6 by linmag makes you want to weep or take drastic action !!!!

I understand that Concerts can be cancelled and re arranged for all sorts of reasons and it is never good news especialy if it will hit peoples pockets. What I cannot understand is if we are expecting the tour dates to change significantly , why are you still able to purchase tickets for all of the concerts. We are les than 4 weeks away from the first concert

That sounds suspiciously like you are asking a question that will require a speculative answer, and ya know, speculation isn't really allowed around here

The only reasonable explanation I can think of is that "the announcement" is something that may affect the dates and require cancellation/postponement (it certainly looks like it has for Russia anyway as that ticket seller has already confirmed the event might be delayed or cancelled) but they still remain unsure of whether it definitely will affect the others, or to what extent, hence the delay in getting this announcement out and hence the tickets still being on sale (it wouldnt make sense, business wise, for them to to stop ticket sales if the concerts still might happen). On reflection, I'd like to think AEG wouldnt deliberately withold information about and sell tickets to shows they know definitely are not happening, so i'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that count. As for what the announcement is, well, the clues do seem to point in one direction, but I fear I have speculated enough already.

Well I took a break from writing a Job description to get up to date on the last three pages of Aliens, AEGs, Smileys and realists etc and could not resist your reference to Muffins or War and Linmags post which I think I eventually located - or maybe not?

Weep or drastic action? Put me in the camp of all those who believe Tony Blair (and George Bush) should be hauled off to the Hague and tried as a War Criminal. If it was a choice between the Concert dates being postponed and Blair on trial that would be a price I would willingly pay!

(I am of course just doing my best to stimulate debate and keep this thread ticking over until the fabled announcement arrives - lets hope it does not take as long to locate as those famous weapons of mass destruction!)
