If I understand that French correctly, the DVD has not yet been released and thus cannot yet be ordered (????) Probably you will have to wait a while if you want to get the DVD from there...
Re: Armelle Brusq Spring '96 documentary on DVD!
Thank you Puddingdale:) That was my impression also, that maybe I have to wait until the release date.

Just for your information: the price of the DVD has gone down at amazon.fr all of a sudden (and it is out of stock). It's around € 15 now and around € 22 including shipping.
Has anyone been lucky with buying the documentary somewhere else yet?

Re: Armelle Brusq Spring '96 documentary on DVD!
I got an e-mail from Amazon.fr this morning to say that they were sorry but the DVD has been delayed and they will let me know when it is available. They didn't mention a price reduction but they do give a price guarantee on pre-release orders.

True, they did not mention a reduction, but when I checked my account, it was cheaper all of a sudden. Not that that makes me unhappy
Thank you for your response. It is always ensuring to see that I did not misunderstand the French e-mail. I hope we will not have to wait for too long.

Not sure whether this is still an issue, but the DVD (English with French subtitles) is now available at amazon.fr for 12,49 Euros, with reasonable international shipping rates (something like 6 Euros outside France within the EU). If any of you still need help with the French site, I'll be glad to assist...

Thanks, I still didn't order it due to ridiculous prices. I guess it simply wasn't widely available so far, street date is one thing, and the real date when it reaches stores another...

Re: Armelle Brusq Spring '96 documentary on DVD!
I ordered the DVD from Amazon France 5 days ago and it was waiting for me today when i got back from work.
At £16.85 including postage it wasn't cheap but like Wendy my sense of proportion where LC is concerned has pretty much gone out the window over the past year or so.
The film is in English with French subtitles (the subtitles can not be switched off which is a little annoying, but there you go).
I have never seen this documentary before (apart from one or two scenes that have been used elsewhere) and have only had a chance to watch it through once but it is a fascinating and intimate document of the Mt Baldy years and well worth seeing. One highlight is Leonard playing an up tempo tune on the keyboard and singing part of the 'spoken word' section of A Thousand Kisses Deep, dressed in grey longjohns. You also get a little insight into his relationship with Roshi which is quite touching.
By the way Stephen, many thanks for letting us know about this release.

ok, I need to get serious about getting this... If I order from fr amazon, is it Region 1 or 2?? I need Region 1. I'd be ok with a VHS too...but don't see those for sale anywhere for this film.

Re: Armelle Brusq Spring '96 documentary on DVD!
My copy (from Amazon.co.uk) is region 2 only. The VHS version has been sold out for years.
-- Have the region module removed from your player at a local service point. For most DVD players it
is really easy - it's just a plug-in module that can usually be detached in seconds (the manufacturers
make it intentionally this way)
In Finland there are also on sale models without the region codes at all (=the module was never plugged-in).

Re: Armelle Brusq Spring '96 documentary on DVD!
Would you know if it is also available in the actual Fnac outlets themselves? I am on vacation in Paris at the moment and would stop by before I leave here on Saturday if I thought I could get one.zodkavombie wrote:I just looked on fnac.fr and they have got the dvd for 16 euros
