Aviya-I did pay for a ticket, and it was a difficult experience, but apparently not as difficult as yours!
I used the OUR code because that's what Sazka office said I should do (I have no idea what it means). And I insisted at the bank that there is a certain sum that must get through to the other end, and they calculate and tell me the charges too; so I already knew I'm paying about 20 euros more than the ticket (and that's the sum I wrote on the transfer papers, ticket+charges; NOT only the price of the ticket!).
I was worried that the sum might end up smaller because of the currency change, but they told me that gets done automatically, so... well, finally I had no problems, excepting that it took about 2 weeks to get confirmation for the payment, and 3 more weeks to get the actual ticket! (slowest mail system I ever saw) Sorry, I guess that doesn't help you much.

thanks for the share Suzanne :D my problem finally cleared up today. Apparently, DEUTSCHE BANK didn't explain me my transferring options, so to speak, ( I've never done it before) and I'm so angry with their incompetency. I went to several bank offices and each of them told me different things as if they don't work in the same institution, then, today I spent hours on the bank hotline and they constantly passed me though probably each operator in the whole Germany until the last one explained me everything. GOD!!!!! so much troubles because of a simple money transaction!!!!! and once again I came to the conclusion that German bureaucracy and their so called order fail all the time.

to sum up, all together I got to pay ca. 60€ additional fee to the platinum price of the ticket I've already paid
nevertheless, the chance to see & hear- probably for the last time the maestro is my only comfort ;-)

Suzanne: at least it's a beautiful Absurdistan. Not all of us are that lucky. :-) I really hope to see you there soon.

Aviya: I'm terrified to find out how much they charged you for the transfer! And I thought Germany was supposed to be one of the most efficient countries in the world... Well, at least you managed to sort things out, that's good.

I wrote in the Prague and Bratislava meetup thread, but it seems I wasn't succesful there, so I'll try here too. Are there any "locals" interested in a meetup in Prague, and who could decide how/when/where would that be? We're already an international group of 4, or 5, or 6 (or something like that, I think ;-) ) flying in, but of course we don't know the city.

Hi Laura and all coming to Prague,

Definitely, there should be a meet up in Prague! I try to organize something even if I am momentarily not residing in Prague /and arriving on 27th/. There are two possibilities: first, we can do it directly at O2 arena /there should be around 7 restaurants, bars or cafés/, second, at some café, bar or restaurant around the city center /I can choose one, there are plenty/ - it is about 20-25 minutes /or less/ to get to venue from the city center.

Please, send me pm or email me on vpodebradska@hotmail.com , let say till the end of this week, if you wish to participate /stating your name, eventually number of participants/ so I can book something.

Regards,

Vlasta
