Columbus Ohio concertgoers

Hello everyone who will be attending the Columbus concert,

On the advice bridger15 (very much appreciated - thank you Arlene), I am opening up a separate thread for anyone who will be attending this concert or has any kind of input. As has been mentioned on the St. Louis thread, it will keep the other threads from becoming cluttered.

So moderators, if at all possible, could you please take the Columbus related posts and put them here? I apologize in advance for asking this big favor of you and don't even know if it can be done or is the right thing to do. I just think it will let all who have commented on Columbus to see where we stand. Thank you so much if you are able to do this!

At 1:44pm I was offered ROW BBB in the pit by Ticketmaster.

I will be driving up from West Virginia, and to my great delight, was able to get some wonderful tickets at the presale -- 2nd balcony, 1st row, smack dab in the middle. AND, after forgetting to use my Hilton Honors points for the past 10 years, I find I now have more then enough points to stay at the Doubletree (right around the block from The Palace) for free!

All the good karma seems to be pointing toward this concert.

Any chance any of my fellow Cohen fans who are a bit more familiar with Columbus might suggest a dinner spot to meet, eat and anticipate after us pre-salers pick up our tickets at 6? I only request a non-Shoneys or Applebees locale -- my food allergy makes Shoneys or Applebees difficult venues.

If you didn't buy the Pit seats, did you still get seats elsewhere in the venue?

Gina - Welcome to the forum. Meetup is not being planned as of yet. This will hinge on whether or not there will a meetup at the venue with members of the band. If there is, this will occur anytime between 6PM (or when will call tiks can be picked up) and the start of the concert. The opportunity to meet band members is so special, I would not want to miss this. Then any forum/fan meetup can be planned around this.

I see that our Blue Smoke salsa had gone national now, but, does anybody crave a bottle of it? Or a gen-u-ine lump of West Virginia coal? (I can even distinguish among flavors of coal.)

I attended college in Nashville TN. I remember a couple of fall back-to-school meet and greats with friends who had had the great fortune of spending their summer job time as roadies for various pop bands. I would sit, chin on hands, elbows on table, with (what I imagine) was a bemused look on my face as I absorbed every detail about life on the road with this rock star or the other. And from these sessions I did learn that if there is a choice, the best value in ticket money nearly always comes from buying a ticket at the 2nd from the bottom level -- or so my roadie friends advised. So, with this as with other concerts, I went for the 2nd from the bottom price level while remembering Paul and other Vandy theater techies I once knew. And once again, I find their advice validated as I am most happy with my seats.

Hate to bring you down, Gina, but it is a possibility (if it follows the pattern of the previous NA Tour- but it was hit or miss) not probability. That's the kind of thing we have to wait and see and hope, and just maybe it might happen.

I would most certainly be interested in a meet and greet in Columbus with the band. That would be great! So let us know. Ticketmaster sent my tickets in the mail, even though it was pre-sale. I told them I was coming from out of town and the woman was very kind about having them put in the mail.

You were very fortunate that they mailed your presale tickets. I have never heard of this happening before! You will most likely still be able to get in early if you want to, especially if there will be a meet and greet. Just tell them you are a member of this forum. It has worked in the past.

I noticed that there is a $22.50 ticket level available for the Columbus show. Does anyone know how to obtain the needed password/redemption code? I can't seem to find out who is sponsoring that special ticket price.

Welcome to the forum! Where have you found the $22.50 ticket price? Ticketmaster has been offering $27.50 tickets for a little while (with the TM charges for a total of $36.50 ). These tickets appear to be 3/4 of the way back on the main floor. This price is not shown on the upper right, but if you choose a price, that is where it will appear.

I am looking forward to the early entrance for Forum members with one caveat: my daughter, who is not a Forum member, will be with me. Can you predict -- and I understand if you can not --- if this will be an issue?

Will definitely not be an issue ! You bought two tiks and your daughter is a member by default. All you have to do is say she is a member also.

Alas, the 2 tickets thing is not so clear cut. She has been working at a summer job in Alaska and did not know until long after I had purchased my ticket via the pre-sale that she would be back "home" and able to attend with me -- so her ticket is NOT a will-call, presale ticket, but just a plain old, ordinary ticket.
