Question about writing Leonard Cohen

Post by Buster1536 »

Dear Cohenities and Fans of leonard Cohen

again I have a question and come back to this wonderful forum, where I always found very nice help... It is a great place here, Leonard would love the help which is given here.

So now my question:

I have thought about writing Leonard Cohen a letter a long time ago, but didnt could managed it because of some time problems. Now I want to tell him all my thoughts, my wishes, my hopes, tell him how he inspires me, how he helps me in my life and so on! Further more I wanted to do in a personal way, like a letter, with my own handwriting...
1. Has anybody experience with writing LC a letter? Does he write back? Does he write with computer or with his own hands?
2. On which adress do I have to send the letter? Has anybody an idea?

Thank you very much for you help

I wish everyone a nice sunday

Yours Sebastian Tischer

Hi Sebastian,

I believe your best option is to send an email to Leonard Cohen's manager at: rkory@rkmgment.com
Good luck!

Hi Sebastian,

I wrote to Leonard a few times in the Nineties and received a brief response, each time. Of course, Leonard was in the monastery then, and e-mail was a relatively new thing. However, I wish you good luck with your correspondence.

All the best, John E

Thank you very much for your answers.

@ John: When you wrote LC in the nineties, did he wrote the answers per hand or on the computer? Was there an autograph at the end?
My dream is to write him and get an very personal answer with his signum under it...Do you think that he ansers personally with signum in these days? Do he send the letter il germany?

Further more I want to ask him if he might sent me an personal item of him, so that I can have anything personal... I want to ask if he might send me an usesd komboloi of him...stupid idea?

Do you think he might do something like that?

Thank you very much for your answers

Yours Sebastian

You cannot expect any answers from Leonard as long as he is touring. He receives a huge number of letters (not to mention all the books, CDs and so on), and it is impossible to give any feedback during these hectic times. He needs the few moments between the concerts for rest and meditation.

Dear Jarkko,

Thanks for all of your work on this site.

I'm looking forward to four of the Fall, 2009 concerts in the US. It's certainly very understandable that LC would not have time to write his fans while touring! My sense is that this tour has been a great experience for him as well as for his legions of fans. While we are all enthusiastic about seeing the upcoming shows, I know that many of us are a bit concerned about the impact of all of this--three hour (!) concerts, clearly giving his all every time, several times a week, on his health. Can you, hopefully, assure us, that he is doing as well physically as he seems to be doing mentally?
