Practice equanimity, Geoffrey. It will be good for your heart.
Re: The Infinite Haiku
... okay.. I am now officially confused with this thread and/or people/person dynamic...
Anne and Lizzy... or just Anne in this instance.. I don't think that either Harry or Geoffrey should keep you from continuing with this thread... conflicts will arise.. but then things settle down again.. it's in the nature of anything that's infinite (I would think)... Harry, as most know, is a Lord M. amalgam... and sometimes he is quite sharp, and sometimes he is quite funny (or both, actually), you have to give him that, at least.. even if a lot of his stuff is in poor taste.. (and at times mean spirited seeming Harry.. you should work on that, if you return, that is) (or am I wrong about that part?).. And Geoffrey.. well Geoffrey is our resident conundrum.. or koan for us to contemplate.. he is multifaceted, and not all that easy to pin down.. as such, he is a persona worth observing, since who knows what he will come up with next.. (though one hopes he really has quit watching us, however.. but I won't dredge that up again for the moment)...
... so.. I know we sort of got into this a bit yesterday (Lizzy).. but I'm still a bit puzzled as to what the problem is.. (?)... different strokes as they say.. and that adds to this weird thread I thought..

humour is the theme
criticism, backbiters
bullies, will it change?
~Anne, you have more elegance and eloquence than most people I know, and those traits are something to be very proud of

Re: The Infinite Haiku
practice admitting your mistakes, anne. It will be good for your soul. Find the courage to explain that you misread the haiku that prompted your goodbye. you will be a bigger person for doing so. although that may involve you buying new clothes, it will probably be a thrilling experience to own up to your mistake.anneporter wrote:Practice equanimity, Geoffrey. of course if you can't find the integrity or courage then that will make you a smaller person and you will still have to buy new clothes.
so there we are anneporter, the choice is yours, and I don't mean to either waffle or ignore. I mean the choice is yours to do the right thing or the wrong thing.
here are the 3 haiku again. this will make it easier for you to deal with the persistent question about your integrity

what do you say, anne? and see if you can get your answer in before suzanneorange and MyMichelle rush to give their objective views on this particular point.

Re: The Infinite Haiku
"tasteless crowd" is the key phrase, there, dear Lord of a Thousand Names (but only one personality.)
Re: The Infinite Haiku
see if you can overcome your issues about names (google Shakespeare and rose perhaps) and explain if you wish why that particular haiku led to your departure. where was the tastelessness in playing with "dog" and "cat" in that context?anneporter wrote:"tasteless crowd" is the key phrase, there, dear Lord of a Thousand Names (but only one personality.)
Hopefully, you are not so far away from admitting that stereotyping a person led to your blunder. or was your departure because of the sexual overtones in IF's haiku one before? I think I am right in saying IF is a woman (we have never spoken) and maybe blaming her would cause gender problems for you?

what "mistakes" do you mean? not following my haiku now but doing your own instead, you flooding the forum yesterday, or the one that anneporter can't apologise for?lizzytysh wrote:I'll move to Japan

Re: The Infinite Haiku
" Animal perversion" isn't that the issue here? I can't think of one instance in which bestiality is tasteful. That's what I thought Harry meant. How can Anne be wrong in thinking a reference to bestiality is tasteless? Don't tell me I'm the one with the dirty mind for thinking of it. How about we all stop the personal attacks on this thread and carry on with respect for all.

the "perversion" was the use of the word "dog" within "doggerel" and "cat" within "catapult". you probably don't have dirty mind just a dull puritan's mind.
your post is wholly disrespectful for not listening to the explanation repeatedly given.
it doesn't become a "reference to bestiality" just because anne missed the point. how's Senator McCarthy doing these days? boy, you must miss him something rotten..
