... (flowers pronounced "flours," to keep it one syllable..)... (that's cheating, I know).. (but if he brought me flowers, especially pretty ones.. well I'd be more faithful to the symbolic meaning of my name)...

Violet, Harry is an olde fashioned sort of guy. His "whilst" is par for the course for a man who likes to wear 18th Century wigs.

Bye the way, the BBC are holding a Poetry season at the present time. Instead of some of the usual adverts for forthcoming programmes, they are giving us small snippets of well known faces reading poetry. It would be rather good if they continued this delightful intersession.
Alas, I suspect the season will be a short one...
