I wish I would have met Cohen's music at an earlier age. He has hisfinger on the pulse of our pop culture that is for sure.

I especially enjoy his songs about love..his take is truly unique.

He does indeed. You could do a thesis on Cohen, and his social commentary.

~ I agree, and some have done master theses on him! We will see many more of those in years to come. Doctoral would be no more surprizing, and it seems has already been done, but I can't point you to where. The masters I became aware of on the Sony Board.

I for one am a twenty year old, going on twenty one on November 24th fan of Leonard Cohen. I hope to represent the younger audience of Cohen fans in NYC this summer!

I knew you'd do great, Mike! Congratulations! 96% is excellent! Did you play any excerpts of his music; read any of his poems; or stick to spoken text, simply talking about him? If it involved music or poems, what were your choices? Did you more or less chronicle his life, including Mt. Baldy?

Dear Blue Mask and Cohen Knight,

Blue Mask, your birthday is exactly the same as my youngest daughter who will celebrate it in the Dominican Republic turning 21 there. I hope to bring her and a friend to New York this June. But even if she can't make it, please be assured that our experience on Hydra was multi-generational with many young people who you will have a fantastic time with-one of the great things about Cohen. Our daughter has, perhaps, had more Cohen than she can handle at a tender age-so I can say that she tolerates him at best. But these are the issues that often concern generational issues and quality always comes through.

Cohen Knight, Congratulations on your 96%! This brings to mind my freshman year in college which I hesitate to say was 1970. I was able to take a course in literature that was designed to examine the rebel, the outsider, in art. As my final paper, I invited the whole class over to my tiny apartment, and played them, Suzanne, as well as two versions (one in C, one in G) of Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone." I prefaced, "Suzanne" by apologizing for LC's voice. Several people immediately told me that they thought that it was excellent. I followed up by discussing several poems from his "Selected Poems" of 1968 which had intrigued be during my High School days. It is excellent to hear that students are still using Leonard to demonstrate their prowess in discussing issues that are timeless.
