Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man at 22:00pm, Saturday 30th August, 2008
An intimate look at the songs, poetry and life of one of music's most celebrated and influential troubadours. Wooing audiences at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival, the 2006 Berlin Film Festival and the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, this film went on to receive international acclaim from film critics, before being released theatrically in Australia in February last year.
In January 2005, Lunson travelled to Sydney to film the historic Came So Far For Beauty show, a tribute to Leonard Cohen at the Sydney Opera House organised by famed music producer Hal Willner. This documentary includes behind-the-scenes interviews and live performances from this event by Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright, Kate and Anna McGarrigle, Martha Wainwright, Beth Orton, Linda Thompson, Teddy Thompson, Jarvis Cocker, The Handsome Family, Julie Christensen and Perla Battala, as well as a special performance of Tower of Song by Cohen and U2. And in a series of candid interviews, Cohen himself reveals his trademark wry humour and soulful intensity, using his own artwork, poetry and personal collection of photographs to reflect upon his colourful past and his creative process. Directed by Lian Lunson, (From the UK, in English) M(L) CC WS
The only annoying thing about this viewing will be the advert breaks (sigh), but it's still great to have this exposure of Leonard to a wider audience than those who would have actually made the effort to see the movie when it was doing the round of the cinemas over 12 months ago.

Cheers
