Nice, France - only an hour and a half?

Hi, a newbie and devotee here.

The question is this: do you think it is possible that Leonard's performance in Nice, France will be confined to the time of only an hour and a half as the Jazz Festival schedule suggests? The set lists and reviews seem to suggest that the concerts of this tour last for three hours.. What do you think? I intend to fly across half of Europe to see and hear the man, and would hate to choose a location where this experience was to be shorter than at all possible.

Then again, since it is France - no offence here - perhaps schedule is irrelevant?

My fellow countrymen are a lot more punctual and schedule aware than some others I could name. LOL!

I lived in Nice for many years when I was young, but I can't tell you whether the concert will be shorter than the ones in other cities because I never actually attended the Jazz Festival, but since LC is not the only show that night it may well not go on so long. Although the setting is out of this world and I would kill to be able to listen to him in Nice, I would say you're probably better off trying to attend a concert where no one else is billed.

The Nice concert has been sold out for several weeks. Where will you get tickets for it?

At the official website they scheduled Leonard Cohen at 21.15h and Maceo Parker & the WDR Orchestra Big Band at 22.30h, both at the Garden Stage. So it seems that Cohen is playing a shorter set at this appearance, since he is only one of two artists playing this evening - if you just want to see Cohen, better choose another show...

I checked a while ago, just out of curiosity (also because I thought I might be able to attend that concert at some point), and it was sold out. They must have released more tickets in the last few days. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.

I bought our three day ticket quite a while ago (20.4.2008)... So it will be Nice for my first date with LC. My first choice was Lyon but the ticket were sold out by the time I knew about my free time in summer...
And now- as I understand the concert will not be the standard 3 hours of enjoyment. Bad luck. I checked the programme today- Maceo Parker will start at 22.55- so the concert could last for 2 hours... I like Maceo as well- I was at his concerts 3 times- I hope that he could do it later in the night but it is probably up to the organisers...
Does any have any experience with Nice jazz festival- do they stick to times of concert very strictly?

Is it strict schedule.

last weekend Glastonbury Festival performance was shortened to 1.5 hour. Leonard simply played te first part of the show, until his usual intermission.

Hm, damn, I just realised that my ticket for LUCCA is also of a festival...

I am flying from the UK especially to see Leonard at the Nice jazz festival. My tickets say (i think cos its in French) that doors open at 18.00 and the concerts at 19.30. Does anyone know whether there will be a queue at 18.00; is the venue seated; should we take a picnic? Any information/help would be appreciated. I would willingly wait and stand for days but my companions are not so devoted.

The only thing I know is that there are no allocated seats for the concert. It's in the open air so I expect you can take a picnic.
