Firstly, some news:
The group has grown, almost reaching 800 people. Also, there's more activity in the group, and disscussions. I hope all of us will get some good news soon.

I can feel the anticipation very strongly - even in today's article about Laurie Anderson coming this summer to israel, many people ask about Leonard!
(http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-3523066,00.html - for hebew speakers :) )
I just hope (with some basis) that Leonard hears us, and comes.

To Leonard:
We love you Leonard, and I personally feel you are in some ways one of us. I know that you felt the same once - at the Yom Kipur war you came here to support us. I hope this connection, that is beyond religion and place of residence, has not withered with the years. I wish I could meet you this summer, personally or from afar.

Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone has any news regarding new tour dates and the possibility of Israel being part of the route?
There's great anticipation in Israel. This morning the Facebook group has almost 1000 members so I can only imagine that the number of people holding their breath in excitement and hope is much much larger.
Please don't forget the devoted fans and music lovers in this little corner of the world!

Let me start by saying, if I ever see you guys, I'm giving you one heck of a great big hug.
Your efforts to bring Leonard Cohen to Israel are good deeds and I am crossing my fingers, legs and mindframe in hoped that you'll succeed.

I've joined the Facebook group, I've mailed Mr. Cohen's head office and today I started out finding out any information I could about ticket offices in Greece...

I really do hope you guys pull it off.
Hey, if anyone from the offices is reading this, I'm committing to pay a freakin' fortune for my ticket!! ;-)

Good luck!

good news....!

We talked to the producer we know today. A week ago we dropped the bomb on him, suggesting to bring LC. He gave it some tought and afterwards did some research. He informed us the he himself will not try to bring LC, basically because he doesnt stand a chance. He says that several of the biggest producers in Israel are negotiating among themselves and the LC people as to who will bting him. According to him, it is in te process and in the production world in Israel, when the situation a\is as follows, 90% one of them will in fact succeed in bringing him, so it is not a question of "if", but of "who" and "when".....

Kudos to every one of you and the remainder of the 1000+ on Facebook for your commitment and unbridled enthusiasm.

I've just read this thread for the first time, from the first through the last posting.

There are three places in the world where I would most love to see Leonard perform: Montreal [his hometown, where I actually will be]; Greece [preferably Hydra]; and Israel. Checking the airfares, getting to Israel is comparable to getting anywhere else in that general region of the world, and just as impossible for me. If I were able, however; I would choose Israel over Greece.

I love it that, despite any assurances, you have organized as you have and taken the proverbial bull by the horns and done what empowered people know how to do... get busy and do all you can!

The emotion will be overwhelming for audience and Leonard alike; and yours may be the most unforgettable performance and experience of all. If I were able to see Leonard perform in Israel, it would feel like heaven on earth.

My very best to all of you 8) ! You're impressive and inspiring... and you deserve every glorious feeling coming your way!

Love,
Lizzy

Thanks to all who wrote kind words, much appriciated !! Our facebook group keeps on growing and I belive we will reach 1500 LC fans and admirers pretty soon .

However, it seems there are no good news regarding us yet ,a performance in Israel remains under a big question mark ...so disappointing :(
