I listen to Bon Jovi's
"Always" on repeat
on my 2nd hand mp3

And I know it is bullshit

I'm leavin' girl
Outta' here
Gone

I waited too long

Goin' to smash some adverts
kill a Porsche or two
feed a hollow brown belly

and find a wife...

Hey, Boss,
Good luck in your search. Here are some pick up lines that have worked on me. Maybe they can be helpful to you.

1. Come here, I wanna show you something.
2. Bullshit. (About something stupid I'd said, so it may not work in the wrong context)
3. Do you want me to show you how to do that? (Married this one)
4. You drive me crazy sometimes.
5. You better be careful, I'm a free man now.
(Ugh! I can't believe I dated that dork. Barf. DO NOT USE! DO NOT USE!)
6. Oh, I have that movie, wanna see it?

I suggest you try these

1. did you hear that Leonard Cohen is dating Britney Spears?

2. have you ever stayed a night inside the Paris Hilton?

3. don't you agree that America's war with Iraq has brought pride back to the nation

4. I have a lawn mower that can trim your bush

5. is that a chipolata in your pocket or are you Jack Lazariuk?

6. would you like to hear my winning entry to the LC forum competition

each of these lines has both class and charm, but that shouldn't stop you at least trying to use them.

you're not going to declare yourself the winner of the poetry competition, are you? that may be classy and charming but perhaps a touch unconscionable.

I didn't enter, couldn't trust either of those judges.

Thanks Manna and Mickey,

I will take on board your fine advice. Tell you what, with your experience and wisdom, I'll be married by summer

And thanks for making me laugh.

Okay, I have things to do...

is there one that wouldn't work on me? The dork worked on me, remember? I am no trustworthy judge of pick-up lines.

The music implodes
the desert stings
and I lay
in the garden.
I am in Arizona,
Sahara
and beer is
available on tap
and off.

And Kafka knew
not this place;
but he did.
And Aristotle was
struck dumb by
such a garden.
He ached in it,
bathed, made love
forgot to think.

The flies and ants
and pigeons with
broken toes know
the position, laugh
at the folly of
Man with his
machines and
noise.

The garden needs
work, pruning
a mow. Vladimir
Putin was invited
here once. He said
he'd been
when he was
very young.

Said he liked
rainforests.

---------------------

Call the day
and find a depth
in your self.
Know the secret
and keep it.
For how could
it be known?

A love song
emanates from
the radio.
She sings of
woundedness
and the desert
mourns for it,
and a bird
affirms it,
and heat will
not lie -
only wonder
of what's
been lost
to the pain
of yesterday,
the force of
reckoning,
the dance of
sorrow.

Hi Adam ~

It's good to see you here again. Your absence is always noticed. Your poems here seem to be noticeably lacking in anger 8) . Still very reflective, inward looking and assessing. More of a recording than a judging, inward or outward. Are you actually in the U.S. state of Arizona? Or is that simply a desert reference to where you actually are?

Alone
motivation lags
into yesterday.
Schindler on;
and at Auschwitz
they burned
your brother
your sister.
And it won't leave
this backdrop,
it makes
nothing important.
Frivolous squabbles
broken attitude
There is a war on!
It is not country
versus country,
it is about you.
Do you dance,
Lizzy, and you, Manna?
So much has been spilt
for our freedom to
type on lap-tops.
And we still sell out
to Coca-Cola
to Microsoft.

The definite heart
can never know
